Baltimore Orioles E. Dubose
New York Yankees J. Contreras
OVER 10.5
- Whenever you have two major league pitchers that match up well your first thought is a close game. Well, Eric DuBose and Jose Contreras have some numbers in common, maybe not exact but close. In each of their most recent 3 starts here are their numbers in this order:
ERA - WHIP - Avg Allowed Runs
DuBose 6.32 1.85 5.7
Contreras 6.43 1.79 5.7
All I want out of this is their average performance. If I get that, I cash this OVER play. Look for a 5-5 ball game at some point.

St Louis Cardinals C. Carpenter
Pittsburgh Pirates K. Wells
UNDER 9
OK, I may be the lone ranger on this play
but I really like this one. Kinda rollin' the dice on Kip Wells here as I feel pretty good about Chris Carpenter. You know when you sit down and watch a baseball game and just can't get the pitchers performance out of your head ??? Whether you liked him or hated him ??
Well if you saw Chris' last start against the Astros you should remember that he pretty much held Biggio and the boys to a whole lot of nothin' !!!
Chris has an ERA of 3.69 but I say you gotta IGNORE that because he's actualy better...more like his ERA in L-3 which is 1.27 and a WHIP at 0.89 while allowing a whopping average of 2.3 runs in those starts. This game will be a pitchers game guys & girls, and the hurler sharing the mound is Kip Wells who also has an impressive 2.7 average runs allowed in his most recent along with 1.45 WHIP and an ERA of 2.97.
I'm also factoring in the Pirates are better on the road offensively than they are at home. I really like the UNDER here folks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chicago White Sox M. Buehrle
Oakland Athletics M. Mulder
UNDER 7.5
Again, I may not be supported much on this one since the number is so low but I really like this one as well. At a simple glance you will see that the combined average number of allowed runs by BOTH of these pitchers in their last 3 do not add up to the TOTAL set for this game.
Buehrle has allowed an average of 0.7 runs in his last 3.
Mulder has allowed an average 1.0 in L-3.
Their WHIP, ERA and all other pertinent numbers support this as well.
I'd take the UNDER if it were set at 6....
The UNDER will cash here. Get on it folks.
Good Luck
