And thats why I am proud to say that I have not made a bet on the Lakers, against the Lakers, over the total or under the total in any of their game since the beginnig of the season.
Anyone who doesn't think some of Lakers have made conscious efforts to control above especially during last few minutes of numerous games during the past few seasons in my opinion is naive.
If you watched every game last few seasons where missed Laker free throws, turnovers, suspicious fouls, etc. caused something to happen-usually meaning Lakers don't cover or to put game over or under, I think it would be obvious to all that there is some kind of monkey business going on;I would bet anything on it if it could be proved.
I just knew with most of so-called smart money on Lakers and under tonight, that it just wouldn't happen.
Good luck to all brave enough to roll the dice with this team.
ps Yeah and I wouldn't put it past the refs to "help" out also.

That ending was brutal, I sat there thinking Fisher and Kobe would make one of two. I thought the line would push, but thats the cost of a high line against a worth opponent.

I feel bad for Fakers bettors, but man do they lay eggs ATS more than most (or so it seems)

          Wallstreet

They do, the Fakers lose ATS I would say more than any other team in the NBA.

              4 Hall of Famers

You don't think they would let 4 Hall of Famers together in one team and let them win most of thier games, do you? PLEASE!!!

I prescribe to Savages hypothesis about the Lakers. If the Lakers keep doing shit like this, it will become theory. I refuse to bet Laker games. Down the stretch, the Lakers knew they had the game. It was a high line and they made sure they weren't going to cover it(ie. Kobe suddenly showing Shaq's form at the FT line). Hell the one FT Kobe made down the stretch, he tried to miss it and BANKED it in off the backboard. Nuff said!

These games are the drug that keeps us betting...
I did not bet a lot on this game, but just to sweat this game was worth it...
                  HOW I MISSED IT!!!!!!
                  :D
You need people like me so you can point your fingers and say Hey there's the bad guy! So, what does that make to you. Good guys? Don't kid yourselves. You're no better'n me. You just know how to hide and how to lie. Me, I do not have that problem. I always tell the truth, even when I lie!

Hokie-I was going to mention the free throw that Kobe banked but thought folks would think I was being extreme;I am glad you mentioned it also.
It is actually kindof amusing to watch lakers games down the strecth(assuming you haven't bet it) to watch some of stuffthat goes on.
Sometimes it is so obvious that they are trying to miss free throws, etc.
Of course david stern would scoff at such allegations, but then again don't be so sure that good old David does not receive some monetary benefit if the "right" team co vers or wins the game.

all the hollywood stars had the points last night and the lakers were just trying to make them happy.

you want a conspiracy........how about the twolves winning at home so that there could be a laker game on a holiday in primetime.......more laker expose, and another game for the networks to work over. and in game 5 kg all of a sudden is getting to the free throw line every time down the floor and the lakers are in foul trouble. then in game 6 the twolves are in foul trouble so that the lakers win.....get their needed rest and are fresh for game 1 on sunday vs a shitty eastern conference team.....actually i hope that indy comes back to win the series....i think that they are a better match up vs the lakers.

Just a hunch here, watch Indiana win tonite to force game seven. If Detroit wins, then there is no NBA on TV until sunday.

let the numbers speak for themselves

as one of the best w/l teams this year the lakers were the 2nd worst ats team in the nba this season. (only orlando was worst).

the lakers are (including playoffs) 39-57-3 ATS (41%) this season and the over/under is 42-54 this season.

I teased the line to 187 and Minny +13.5 and still barely squeaked thru on that O/U - My mind immediately went to the thousands of elated/dejected bettors that watched those last garbage points....

                              Conspiracy...

Somehow i don't think so. There is no way that the lakers knew they didn't want to cover the last two games, if they truly did not want to they wouldn't leave it up to last second three point shots.
