Season record: 106-115 -21.01 UNITS
(Note: WOB is now 52-30, 63.4% on OVER/UNDER plays this season.)
Lines from Pinnacle current as of 11:53pm Pacific on 05/29/04.
Four plays for Sunday:
OVER 9 STL (MORRIS)/HOU (REDDING) -117 - 1 UNIT - 11:05am Pacific
Redding is a flyball pitcher, and Morris has been giving up the long ball this year, so neither are good matchups in Minute Maid Park. Morris has already give up 15 HRs, and the Houston offense has had success against him in the past. Redding was showing signs of promise, but got hit hard in his last start by Cincy.
UNDER 7 COL (KENNEDY)/SF (SCHMIDT) -106 - 1 UNIT - 1:05pm Pacific
Pretty low total, but Schmidt is back in dominant form, and he's even better at home. Colorado will have a very tough time scoring on him. I think if this game were to go over, the Giants will have to have a big scoring outburst, which I think is unlikely given how well Kennedy has pitched this year. Schmidt + bad Colorado road offense + pitcher's park shoud equal a low scoring game.
UNDER 10 NYY (LIEBER)/TB (ZAMBRANO) -126 - 1 UNIT - 10:15am Pacific
Lieber has been on fire as of late, and Zambrano has had very good success against the Yankee lineup. Zambrano's control problems are a little scary, but the combination of his success against them and the high total should be enough to offset that. Also, the fact that he strikes out a lot of hitters helps.
KC (GOBBLE) -108 over Min (Lohse) - 1 UNIT - 11:10am Pacific
Will always take a look at betting against Minnesota whenever they face lefties, as they cannot hit them well. I like the matchup here because in addition to GObble being a lefty, the KC offense should be able to hit Lohse. They've already hit him pretty well in two starts earlier this year, and Lohse is not a good matchup for Kauffman Stadium. I'm wary of KC's pen, but I think the offense will be able to pull this one out.
PLEASE NOTE: All wagers are recommended for a "base" unit. Thus a side for 1 UNIT at -110 should be considered risking 1.10 UNITS to win 1.00 UNITS, while a team at +110 should be considered risking 1.00 UNITS to win 1.10 UNITSGLTA

Dr. Bob
Sunday Strong Opinion (possible Best Bet)
Detroit (+3 1/2) 83 INDIANA 80
The Pacers evened this series at two apiece with a resounding 83-68 victory in Detroit. That win sets up the Pistons in a solid 56-26-2 ATS road underdog bounce-back situation, but that angle works best at +4 points or more. My ratings favor Indiana by only 2 points, but the situation isn't quite strong enough, in combination with the line value, to make the Pistons a Best Bet at the current line. Detroit has a profitable 58% chance of covering at +3 1/2 points, which is solidly in Strong Opinion territory, but I'd only make Detroit a Best Bet at +4 points or more.

This isn't a pick per se by Net Prophet but I thought his comment might be of interest to any "500" bettors:
Everything else for Sunday, including the NASCAR race from Charlotte, will
be posted later
I'm not going to do a big rundown on the Indy 500 because, frankly, I don't
follow open wheel racing much. A number of people I know who do all think
that the following driver is likely the best value in the field:
BRUNO JUNQUIERA +1000 to win the Indy 500
JRM/THE PROPHET
Safe Holiday Weekend & good luck to all--nonigoji

Sunday Afternoon MLB Play
5/30/04: Free Play from Prime Sports Picks
NY METS (Trachsel) +150 at FLORIDA (Beckett) -160:
MLB - 3:05PM (EST)
Go with the Mets here as a nice fat dog here on Sunday afternoon. It's tough to go against Beckett, but he has been hittable at times. This series has been decided by one-run games & today's matchup should be no different with Trachsel on the mound for the Mets, who has been very stingy himself allowing runs this season

Sunday's Complete Card.......
It is Sunday! A full slate of action today in the Major Leagues and we think a very good card indeed. We have decreased or plays a bit in the latter part of the week but today's card warrents a number of plays with some really good opportunities. And we have another Heavy Hitter play today..........
Detroit Tigers -115 (Bedard/Maroth)
We have had the Orioles in their two previous wins at Detroit but we think today's game will be a different story with maroth on the mound. After pictching well in the early part of the season Maroth hit a skid but is back to his old self now. We think this game will be unlike the 2 previous and we should see a low scoring affair......The O's have not hit lefties very good this year and Maroth can be dominate when he is on.......The above game should be played at 6% of your bankroll.......The following plays are for 3%....
Orioles/Tigers Under 9.5 (Bedard/Maroth)
Rangers/Bluejays Under 9 (Rogers/Miller)
Atlanta Braves +120 (Ramirez/Milton)
Minnesota Twins +105 (Lohse/Gobble)
New York Mets +150 (Trachsel/Beckett)
Chicago WhiteSox -130 (Lackey/Schoeneweis)
And we do have a play in the NBA Playoffs tonight.......
Detroit Pistons +3.5
