  • Tuesday Baseball..........

Went 0-1 yesterday losing 3 units on the Diamondbacks as Brandon Webb got shelled. Lets get back on track today, these are my plays.........

3 STAR: Atlanta (-$160) OVER MONTREAL
    (Horacio Ramirez vs. Sun-Wo Kim)

The Expos are the most pathetic offense that I have seen in some time and they were shutout for the 8th time this season yesterday by the Braves. Montreal should not be able to put many runs on the board in this game today against the Braves left hander Horacio Ramirez. Ramirez is 2-1 in his career when starting against Montreal with an ERA of only 2.86 and he has been pitching lights out in his last three starts posting a 2-0 record with an ERA of only 1.54. The Expos starting pitcher Sun-Wo Kim has really been struggling. In his last three starts he is 1-2, but has an ERA of 7.71. The Braves are 1-0 this season as a road favorite of $150 to $175 and have been solid in this role the last three seasons posting a record of 21-9 in this spot. Look for the Braves to chop this AAA club.

2 STAR: CINCINNATI (+$105) OVER Florida
    (Paul Wilson vs. Josh Beckett)

Cincinnati is red hot right now coming off of a four game sweep of the Astros and roughing up Clemens and Pettitte in the process and yet still find themselves as a home underdog against the Marlins. Josh Beckett gets the start for Florida, but he has struggled on the road this season posting an ERA of 6.52 in his three road starts. Paul Wilson has been outstanding for the Reds so far this season with a 6-0 record and a home ERA of only 1.23. Cincinnati is already 2-0 as a home underdog of +$100 to +$125 this season and I look for them to get the win here!

2 STAR: BOSTON (-$150) OVER Oakland
    (Curt Schilling vs. Tim Hudson)

It is not often that you get Curt Schilling at home at this price. Schilling is squaring off against Tim Hudson for the A's, but Oakland is only 1-3 this season as a road underdog of +$100 to +$150. Hudson has not been anything special against Boston, he is only 3-3 in his career against the Red Sox with an ERA of 4.05. Schilling is 3-0 at home this season with an ERA of only 1.76. Take the Sox here!

    ALL LISTED PITCHERS MUST START

    2004 MLB RECORD

    5 STAR RECORD 10-7 (+8.95 UNITS)
    3 STAR RECORD 23-16 (+21.10 UNITS)
    2 STAR RECORD 49-50-1 (-1.16 UNITS)
    1 STAR RECORD 36-35 (+9.65 UNITS)

    OVERALL RECORD 118-108-1 (+38.54 UNITS)
    A $100 player would be up $3854.00

John, FYI--the Braves/Expos game is in Montreal, not San Juan. Shouldn't make a difference, though.

        Expo's offense

my buddy (he's a bookie) is getting killed along with probably every sports book on Expo totals. Every night he gets flooded with Expo games to go under. They are worse than last years Dodgers in Under the totals

So far the Expos have went over 14 times and under 31 times

of the 14 times they went over, 5 of those overs the line dropped that helped it go over. Which means with the original opening llines they have went over 9 and under 36. They are terrible

          bgh2003,

You are right, it is in Montreal. Should not matter.
          Good luck,
          John

ESPN.com has Kim starting in the "probables" link. In the "schedule/scores" link, Ohka is listed. Someone in a thread on another site indicated that Kim was scratched and replaced by Ohka. I'm not sure. Anyway, just FYI. and good luck on your plays.

                  Thanks Garth,

I'll clarify this play once we figure out who really is pitching.
                  Good luck,

they should be good for a few days now without any hits, lol!!!

                        Ohka

Ohka(3.72era) is starting in place of Kim(3.65era) today for the Expos. They are similar pitchers, as far as stuff and how they try to get hitters out. Ohka is throwing a little better than Kim in his last two starts. The line moved slightly from overnight line reflecting this. Basically, the change in pitchers should not effect your origional evaluation of the game.
                        GL to all.

                          Thanks HOKIE BIRD!

It is Ohka and it is still a 3 STAR play.
                          Good luck,
                          John

I had a feeling John was gonna stick with the play even if Koufax was the listed pitcher for Montreal

Koufax would have made it only a 1 star!!

                              Good luck,
