Rasheed Wallace Guarantee

Remember when a "guarantee" in sports really meant something? Pat Riley guaranteeing in 1987 that the Lakers would be the first team since the '68 Celtics to repeat as NBA champions--that was a ballsy move at the time. Remember how upset Magic and Kareem were with Riley after he did that? I suspect that, had the Lakers lost in the Finals, Riley probably would have been forced to leave the team. That's how big a deal his statement was. The media would never have let him hear the end of it.
Nowadays, athletes throw around guarantees all the time. No one pays attention anymore. No one is held accountable if they fail. There is no media firestorm when an athlete guarantees a win, then fails to deliver on his promise.
That's how I look at this situation, anyway."Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein." -Joe Theismann

tells me his foot must be feeling better or he can stick it in his mouth
after the emotion of winning in new jersey and then finishing the nets easily at home, and then coming to play good enough to win in Indiana further reinforces my thinking that they are the best in the East

LMAO :D
off the net...
Jermaine O'Neal made the mistake of saying Wallace was easy to guard because he was hanging out on the perimeter in Game 1. That's two mistakes rolled into one: O'Neal pointed out a flaw in Wallace's game and gave a verbal slap in the face at the same time. Watch him drop 20 in Game 2.Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

1. This is Game #2 of a 7 game series, not game 7
2. Detroit after losing game 1 went from +145 DOG to a +205 Dog to win the series, thats nothing extreme
3. Indiana has covered 1 (maybe 0 depending on line) of its last 6 contests
All in all IMO here is what I think will happen
1. Detroit loses badly tonight and falls down 2-0
2. I make a play on Detroit taking the series somewhere right around +280 or so
3. Indiana's inexperience & youth show up later in the series and Detroit takes them down......slowly but surely
4. Believe me........Indiana is not gonna go from a team that never got out of the first round (with the current core) to a team that comes out of the EAST.......it just doesnt work that way
And lastly FWIW I think Minnesota gives the Lakers a HECKUVA fight before bowing out in 6 possibly 7 games
PEACE
