I'm thinking Cubs here, Carpenter is due for a loss and Cubbies wanna get back after losing in the 10th yesterday. I'm waiting to see the lineups before I pound it.

my thought is to never try to break a streak. don't take a team b/c the other pitcher is due to lose. that is going to be a costly system to be on.

Got to go with the Cards. They have a better line-up and a better pitcher going. I never like to bet because a team is "due" to win or lose. I got buried befoe using that reasoning. Peace

Hard to go against the Cards in this spot. They have the upper hand in the pitching matchup, a more potent lineup, Sosa out, Cards rolling along, Cubs struggling a bit. I think your getting Carpenter at a cheap price today and apparently the line is going down. I'm all over the Cards today.

here's my take

wind blowing in from CF --10-15mph--cloudy --no hitters advantage, Cards 262, Cubs 272, now becomes more a pitchers game..

Carpenter 3.9 era. 1.02 whip
Mitre.........4.9 era...1.62 whip

Bull pen era's...Cards 4.11, Cubs 4.42...total set at 8 1/2, deemed to be a low scoring game, add winds, I like the difference in the pitchers stats...Though they may be slight..

Die hard Cubs fan here. Gotta go with the Cards here. Carpenter has been pretty good for them. Mitre is getting thrown to the wolves today. I don't know what it is, but the Cards get more pumped for this series year after year than the Cubs do (from an outsider's observation). I hate to do it, but $$$ is $$$....soI'll take the Cards and hope for a Houston loss as well.

I was at Wrigley Field last year.

You have wind " From the South Southwest at 12 mph"

If I remember right thats come in from right field or cross field wind. Not totally sure though. Someone that lives there would know better then myself.
