      Forgot the PAcers

What about the fucking bone job on the Pacers last night? I had them -4. The were winning 73-70 with 9 seconds left and ron artest on the foul line. That massive piece of shit missed BOTH free throws. Miami comes down misses the 3 point shot and makes no effort to foul. DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        Jason:

In MLB, I think that these blown leads in many cases can be attributed to the whims of the managers with regard to relief pitching.
Here is a link to a previous thread started by FrankB03 that touches on this very issue. I think Frank is right on the money with the points that he makes:

I know it's only been forty games but this baseball season has been very aggravating. Look at the past week, the Mets won games against Johnson, Web, Oswalt and Clemmens. And how about all the NL West got swept at home this weekend by Pittsburgh, Cinncinati and Chicago. Two out of three maybe but all three teams getting swept by teams oustside the division,
I don't know if that's ever happened before.

There's no question that, anymore, you have to handicap bullpens along with everything else when making an MLB play. Another alternative is to play teams for the first 4.5 innings. The Indians, for example, are something like 26-9 this season through five innings. Too bad this isn't little league!

The Indians' bullpen woes this year are well-documented. Other teams to watch out for are the Cardinals (Isringhausen might be one of the most overrated "closers" in baseball, and their middle relief pitching is awful), Royals (gas can city since the days of Quisenberry, or so it seems), Houston (Dotel is no Wagner--hilarious that he challenged Piazza Sunday and gave up a game-tying HR), and Oakland (watching one of the first games I bet on the A's this year, I didn't know they had acquired Arthur Rhodes; I literally screamed when I saw him out there and sure enough he blew the game).
