Cliff Lee has been a key man in the Indians' rotation
this year, with the Tribe winning 5 of his first 7 starts
(+$430) thanks to an impressive 3.10 ERA). Felix Diaz
performed poorly in his only start, allowing 5 earned
in 4+ innings pitched (10.39 ERA). Cleveland checks
in with a solid 14-10 record vs. righthanders, averaging
6.2 runs per game in those contests, while the White
Sox have been ineffective against lefties on the road
(1-3, -$235). A very playable home favorite on a day
without much available to choose from.

SUNDAY, MAY 16
MLB TOTALS (BOTH DAY GAMES!)

UNDER 8.5
Florida at St. Louis
Two good pitchers, Penny and Williams, in St. Louis in the daytime. Night games tend to have more runs scored in Busch.
RESULT: WON. FLORIDA, 3-2.
1:05 pm
**PREFERRED
UNDER 8.5
Atlanta at Milwaukee
Sheets is the Brewers' best pitcher and the teams figure to bounce after scoring all those runs (17) yesterday. Sheets is a good pitcher off a bad outing and has thrown 6 UNDERS vs. 2 OVERS this season.
RESULT: WON. Holy Sheets! Another UNDER for Ben, as the Brewers' stopper does his job, 4-1, on a 3-hitter!
SATURDAY. MAY 15
MLB TOTALS
1:05 pm (DAY GAME!!)
**PREFERRED
OVER 10
Seattle at NY Yankees
Moyer is pitching for the Mariners and the Yankees -- with an influx of new, right-handed hitting pop in the lineup this season -- are killing left-handed pitching in Yankee Stadium. Jeter and A-Rod can take this guy's junk and destoy it into the gaps.
RESULT: WON. The Yankees destroyed Moyer and others, with 5 home runs. They even lost the game, that's how OVER it was, 13-7 Mariners!
7:05 pm
**PREFERRED
OVER 9.5
NY Mets at Houston
Pettitte of Houston, a brittle pitcher off a huge outing, bounces against a team whose hitters he doesn't know very well. Meanwhile, the Mets throw James Baldwin, who may as well have a ''Hit Me' sign taped to his back while he is out on the mound.
RESULT: WON. ASTROS, 7-4. Trying to sneak Baldwin past our totals people is like trying to sneak the sunrise past a rooster.
FRIDAY, MAY 14
MLB TOTAL
8:10 PM

OVER 8
Florida at St. Louis
Marlins ace Josh Beckett has made only two starts on the road so far this season, and one of them went UNDER in Atlanta when Chipper Jones was missing from the Braves lineup. The other was in a hitter's ballpark in Colorado and the game went OVER.
This is another hitter's park, and the Cardinals are throwing a #3-4 type starter.
RESULT: WON. Cardinals, 6-3.
THURSDAY, MAY 13
MLB TOTAL
10:05 pm
**PREFERRED
OVER 8
Cincinnati at San Diego
The Peavy kid on the Padres has thrown a heck of a lot of UNDERS so far this season -- 5 of them in 7 starts. But some of the opposing pitchers were ace Randy Johnson, ace Al Leiter (nothing but 1- and 2-run games in his first five starts), Livan Hernandez of the light-hitting Expos, and ace Jason Schmidt of the Giants. This situation is different. The other guy is Acevedo of the Reds, a so-so starter whose team has lost all three of his road starts this season, in which the other side scored 6 runs each time.
RESULT: WON. Reds have now lost all 4 of Acevedo's road starts. Padres won 8-2, an OVER game despite yet another good outing by Peavy.
