Season record: 66 -77 -21.02 UNITS
All lines current from Pinnacle at 5/11/04 10:39pm Pacific.
Five plays for Wednesday:
CIN (LIDLE) +128 over SD (Lawrence) - 1 UNIT - 7:05pm Pacific
Lidle has pitched very well this season. He gave up 6 ER in his last start, but that was a bit misleading, as he gave up 4 ER in the 8th inning when he was clearly out of gas. He still ended up with a 0.91 WHIP for the game and struck out 7, against only 1 walk. Lawrence's excellent outing in his last start was misleading also. He was going up against a very weak Atlanta lineup which featured only 2 quality regulars.
UNDER 7 PHI (WOLF)/SF (SCHMIDT) +103 - 1 UNIT - 7:15pm Pacific
Schmidt has been looking more dominant with each start, and he owns SBC Park. I don't think the Phillies will score much off of him, and he usually gets deep into games. The Giants lineup has been weak, and Wolf has been Philly's best starter so far, so runs should be hard to come by for SF as well.
UNDER 9 OAK (HARDEN)/DET (BONDERMAN) +115 - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
Harden has pitched pretty well this season, despite his so-so external numbers. In his last game, he retired 19 of 21 Yankees at one point, and his pitches really had something on them. He should fare well again today. Likewise, Bonderman has pitched pretty well, and should be pretty successful against a weak hitting Oakland lineup.
TEX (PARK) -121 over TB (Gonzalez) - 1 UNIT - 4:15pm Pacific
Park is showing signs that he may be returning to form. His velocity, which was missing previously, topped out at 95 mph in each of his last two starts. A few adjustments could result in some solid performances, especially against a weak hitting club like TB. TB is really struggling against righties, with a .222 BA, .276 OBP, and .331 SLG. The Rangers offense is much worse on the road, but Gonzalez has had control and command problems all year, and they should be able to get to him.
SEA (GARCIA) -115 over Min (Radke) - 1 UNIT - 5:10pm Pacific
Garcia has gotten off to a great start, and leads the AL with a 2.11 ERA. He pitched a gem against Minnesota in his last start, and I'll keep with the trend of good Garcia outings. Radke also pitched a gem against Seattle in his last start, but that goes against his historical numbers vs. the Seattle hitters. I think they can bounce back against Radke.
