Season record: 64-74 -19.86 UNITS
All lines current from Pinnacle at 5/10/04 11:20pm Pacific.
Five plays for Tuesday:
UNDER 9 NYM (LEITER)/ARI (DESSENS) +101 - 1 UNIT - 6:35pm Pacific
It was a slugfest last night, but Arizona is hitting only .207 against lefties, and the Mets are averaging only 1.4 runs per game for Leiter. Dessens can keep the ball on the ground, which is a plus when pitching at Bank One. I don't trust either bullpen, but I think there's enough cushion here, last night's game notwithstanding.
UNDER 8.5 PHI (MILLWOOD)/SF (WILLIAMS) -116 - 1 UNIT - 7:15pm Pacific
Millwood has put up some very good numbers against the SF hitters over his career. THe Philly bats have been quiet for much of the season, and playing in this park won't help them to improve. Two quality starters in an extreme pitcher's park should equate to a low scoring game.
CLE (SABATHIA) +193 over Bos (Martinez) - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
Boston has a very low .328 OBP against lefties. I think this is too high a number to be laying against a quality pitcher like Sabathia, even with Pedro on the mound.
OAK (ZITO) -144 over Det (Johnson) - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
Zito is having a down year, and most of his troubles can be attributed to giving up the long ball. Pitching at Comerica should help Zito tremendously, as it's very hard to go yard in that park. Over the last three years, he has a 0.62 ERA and .150 BAA there. Granted, those numbers were against a much weaker Tiger team than this year's version, but I still think he can pitch a good game here. Johnson has been stinking it up for most of the season, and their bullpen is equally as bad.
CHW (BUEHRLE) -135 over Bal (Ponson) - 1 UNIT - 5:05pm Pacific
Although Buehrle got hit hard by Baltimore his last time out, they are still hitting only .234 against lefties. Ponson has also been getting hit hard, and has not done well historically against the White Sox lineup. The Sox bats should lead them to a win in this game.

Subject: NBA Playoff Freebie for May 11th
Free picks are 61-43 (+34.53 units) in 2004. Yesterday's freebie hit as the Heat won and covered.
Free 2-unit NBA Playoff Freebie for May 11th:
Take San Antonio +4.5 @ LA Lakers
Lakers took game 3 but look for Popovich to make the necessary defensive adjustments to steal game 4 at Staples Center. This team knows how to win crucial games and this one is big for the Spurs as they'd love nothing more than an opportunity to end the series in 5 and rest for the Western Conference Finals. Look for Duncan and Parker to get it done and win outright but take the points as insurance on the road.Last edited by Spark; 05-11-2004, 05:03 PM.
