Today :

Sharks -155..........This is not a play we take a great deal of pleasure in making (we seldom lay a ML this high) , but we are holding our noses and will try to bag the unit here. This series matchup reminds us, in some ways, of the Tampa - Montreal series (although we do not expect a sweep here!) You have 2 teams that play a very similar style, and have seemingly very similar personnel, and both have top ranked goaltenders. However, one of those teams does it just a little better than the other, and we think that is what we have here with San Jose. Whatever advantages the Flames had over the Wings (youth, speed, hunger, intensity, superior goaltending) are nullified by this Sharks team that has mega-doses of all those qualities....and in our opinion, more talent as well. At this stage in the playoffs, goals are at a premium, especially for these two teams, who split 4 low scoring contests during the regular season, the home team winning all of them. Going under the total is much too expensive, and laying the puck line is not realistic in this situation. We will go with the home Sharks to squeek out this opening game.
