Before the season started I made a pretty decent sized wager on the Flyers to win the Cup taking 12 - 1 odds . While I still like them to win it all I can hedge next the series and play on Tampa Bay. I'm thinking of structuring it like this:
Initial Future Flyer Wager $ 500 ( +12-1 ) to win $6000
TB Wager $ 1000 ( - 165 ) to win $ 1000 or lose $ 1,650
Flyers win series vs. TB: -$1650 but still have $500 to win $6,000 in final series.
Flyers lose TB series: +1000 - 500 ( futures bet ) Net +500 and done .
If Philly reaches finals I can maneuver on the other side to guarantee a $ 2000 pay day +/- depending on the odds . or I can sit pat and go for +6000 - 1650 + 4,350. The down side with that is -1650 - 500 = -2,150 if Philly loses.
I can always do nothing at all and risk 500 to net 6000.
My feeling is that a payday should be locked in and guaranteed and I'm leaning that way. I like nibbling away at books rather than looking for a big score.
Any opinions on this ? I'd appreciate as much input as possible .
Thanks, -Neil
