    Reading into numbers...

I can't believe Detroit is favored $240 over NJ in the series:confused:

If one where to read into this, Vegas has Detroit as the much better team here despite going an extra game in the 1st round, getting thumped over the last eight by NJ, NJ being the higher seed even thought they don't get home court, and NJ winning it's last 14 straight playoff games against Eastern Conference foes.

It seems you follow this more than I. What is your take?

Hung-first of all I am far from an NBA guru and usually rely on others more knowledgeable than I.
That being said, I agree that line is way out of whack-almost a dare by linemaker to bet the Nets.
As you hinted at, Nets are logical play based on past performance.
I personally an going to pass on series bet, and right now for game I tend to agree with spaarkie for tonight with Nets and over If (and thats a big if) if I play the game at all.
I have learned that sometimes its best to wait and watch a first game in a series or bet it small in case your assessment is wrong.
Hopefully Memphis, Goldvike, et all will chime their taken along with the so-called experts in service thread.

      Pistons-Nets

The line seems entirely logical. Detroit has home court advantage, ended the season playing better than anybody in the East, mauled Milwaukee (a better team than the Knicks who NJ beat) and have a monster coaching advantage with Brown versus Lawrence Frank.

That said, I would NOT bet the Pistons on the series line because the number is high. I also would not take the Nets. in other words, the line seems right.

For what it's worth, all of the home teams have been favored by large numbers so far and in Round One the home court advantage team is now 7-0, pending Miami's game against New Orleans.

Threw a nickle down on Detroit for the series. The info on Kidd and his knee swayed me enough. Their is going to be some banging in this one and he's going to have to carry a bigger chunk of the load than last year. NJ can pass all the want but their outside game sucks and Detroit may be happy to run with them this time around. As the series wears down, we'll see how Kidd holds up.
