I understand that you didn't want to sway me either way and that's commendable.
Just so you know: I wasn't swayed and you gave me some good info. so that I could decide for myself.

Also, I hear you on the trend issue: I can't see trends being very beneficial in MLB. Every game is so different in baseball and there are so many unknown factors (bullpen, etc.) where a trend cannot help you that much. However, if some cappers use trends in MLB as a "piece of their puzzle" that's fine. I just don't think trends on their own would hold much weight.

I don't think I'll be capping MLB anytime soon. I'm good (or like to think I am) at college hoops, college football and pro football. Those are the three sports that I handicap and I listed them in my order of preference.

I do like your opinion regarding the fact that many bettors would probably do better than they think if they just tried capping themselves and kept a record. They would be better off in many cases versus following and paying for a service's picks.
However, I think it would be smart to do it without money in the beginning! And once you find "your edge" don't let emotions get in your way!
