Sorry Fellas :
I got bit fairly bad last nite on my right hand , breaking up a fight and went to the hospital to get it looked at . And after all was said and done the pills they gave me put a whammy on me and I have been out-of-sorts this morning .
I will take a look at todays action and see what it has to offer , hopefully a few are left to play
My typing is going to be very slow for a few days ( 9 stitches ) and its very sore today.

Sorry about last night, Memphis.
Dumb me at first thought you go bit by a human and you were breaking up a fight between people not dogs.
I assume everything you said has to do with dogs.
If I am correct and not to be a wiseass, what could make a dog angry at another in your business?
Remember I have been around (and love) cats all of my life;thus I don't have an understanding about the pups especially the kind you raise.
Lets hope for a quick recovery.

You are quite right about it being dogs , I would never intervene in a fight otherwise . At current I have 111 pups on the farm and believe me when I tell you " they fight daily " , and you sometimes have to quarantine certain ones if for nothing else to protect my investment in them . I have lost some very nice runners in the past due to injuries received while " mixing it up " .
They really like to go for the hind leg alot because they spin while fighting and the hock-bone in the rear heal will end a dogs racing life in a minute . And when considered that some of these dogs are worth upwards of 50,000.00 you have to real carefull with them .
Being a dominate (Alpha) dog goes along way to being a great racer , It carries over to refusing to lose and is a strong motivating factor . The muzzles they wear arent for looks (trust-me) if not for them , there would be a fight in every race . And I own about 200 of them and use them all the time right here much less at the track .
Thank you kindly for the well wishes ( you to Lucky ) and theres never a dull moment around here , always something going on
Always nice chatting with you , and have a great day :D

Thanks Memphhis for teaching me something about which I previously knew vey little.
I still think you would be a GREAT candidate for the Sixty Minutes TV Show.
I can almost see the title A Day in the Life of Memphis Mafia, and Ed Bradley or someone else with the show following you around one day and showing what your typical day is like, and how split up between the dogs, now horses and sports handicapping and of course conversing at Bettorschat.:D

Hey Memphis,,,what's the name of your kennel and can I play on your dogs.I live in NC but my parents go to Florida a lot and they love playing the pups. They got to be good friends with a Mr.Scheele who owned a few dogs.I dont know if he's still around because he was older when I met him.I was always amazed when he would tell us what dogs to play and they would win.I've been following your plays and done pretty well. Thanks for all you do.Hope you heal up soon.Jason

Wow I didn't know you owned dogs too. I almost got into that several years ago. It was a kennel you paid for a dog out of a litter and they raised it on the farm and got you a trainer and all. But I backed out of that. If you get the time I would be interested in some more info on this please. Thanks Leo

Must be something in the stars or moon this time of year! My dog bite my sons friend last night in my back yard!! Spent have the night @ a doc in the box and the other half waiting for A percription to be filled. No stiches luckily but a pretty good puncture wound. I dug a hole in the back yard last night and had the pistol ready to go. Had to put down my best dog of 18 years a couple years back and the thought of him wouldn't let me pull the trigger. Needless to say i am 500 bucks poorer today and torn over the decision on what to do? Dam animals this is one of the least friendly people dogs I've ever known. He's got that predator instinct and is very protective of his domain. Had a robber jump in the back yard before i got him delivered and he's a great watch dog, unfortunantely to good @ times. He and i fight from time to time but if he bites me i bite him backAnyway heres wishing you a speedy recovery!! Lets make some green to pay thoughs doctor and medicine!! Wished he had bite me instead!!!!! GL hc

In Return :
savage1 : More like the 3-Stooges
jsdalry : I will be in Florida soon myself , as I am visiting my family there next week ( stoping in Kentucky first for you know what) . I also have pups running down there , plus W.V. , Mass. , Texas , Ala. , and Iowa at the moment . And I will be happy to let you know when some of them are running and where.
Lucky Leo : I will start a thread in the Non-gambling forum to address your questions about this .
hc : I guess it was a strange nite , and from the sound of things we where a hell-of-a pair to draw to yesterday

MEMPHIS
I really hope you are OK......I HAD NO IDEA you had THAT many PUPS! I was under the impression it was around 20 or so! Yikes you must have you "hand"(s) full! Heal quickly and enjoy yourself immensly "down the road" in the River Town for Mint Julips and the running of the Derby. Weather MAY have a chance of dampness to it but the track should be in good shape from the early looks....I AM NOT a horse player by any means...my forte is the hoops and especially hardball but I would expect MAYBE a little weather could influence a HUGE field in the Tucky!
I was with you (sort of) on the bases picks today taking both the Sox (all 3) and the CWS and pared em. I also jumped the White Sox over along with the overs on KC, LAD, and a rare NON-EXPO under with FLA/SD. ALSO played the NBA overs which just flamed out with DET so hopefully SAC/DAL will shine as EVERYTHING points to the under...Did play a rare OVER on the 1st Quarter on a pointer.....and....gotta go against the flow on this one as Dallas is desparate and should score a bunch.
BEST OF LUCK MEMPHIS and have a great time just South of the "Circle City" (hmmmmm....know anyone there per chance?!) (Now don't try and break up any HORSE FIGHTS!)
ENJOY YOURSELF and HEAL!! UnihornI am NOT schizophrenic......and NEITHER am I! Just paranoid that fear may overcome my insanity!
