Please look @ Predators post for Santa Anita i used your exact words when i put in my box on 3rd race Quinella 7392 for 60.00 and trifecta 739 for 48.00 box. My exacta was 73 for only 2.00 Thanks i have no idea and neither does the book so hes goion to call a friend to figure the winnings. Just want to make sure his friend is correct !!!! Thanks hc

The good news is your Quinella was a winner to the tune of 324.00 at a 60.00 wager. I should take you to wagering class because I cant understand why you didnt follow my lead and box them all as I said I was .

But hey no big deal because you still made off with a cool 214.00 after it was all said and done and that cant be all bad :D

ps - boxing does not have a lead horse , had you boxed your wager would have read 2379 and any order was a winner

at least that part would have washed for ya , Off the top of my head it would have returned your wager with a few bucks to spare , it really didnt pay that well but a wash-is-a-wash in this bizz.

Yes except i read the numbers to him in this order 739 does it make a difference in which order you give the numbers or only that you have the right numbers? so i told him to box 739 for 48.00 thanks hc

where we went wrong hc , I never called a straight 7329 nor was it intended to be taken as such. I actually had a strong feeling that one of those other 3 horses could win it (Sweet Lips only won by a neck ) and when I suggest a box , it is a clear-cut indication that I am not anywheres near positive of the outcome.

That is what a box does , is ****** your hind-end if it goes off a little bit aray and it almost did .

They where never listed in the order I felt because if they where I would have first called it a straight wager , I only listed them that way in responce to predators selection being Sweet Lips first and out of respect suggessted that I would add the others to my wager because of my feelings . I never thought for a minute she couldnt win , just that I didnt think she would or if she did it would be very close and it was .

It came in 7-2-9 so anyway you cut it .... it lost as far as a tri bet or a quin bet ( the 2 was missing )

So with that said when figuring out the pay off for a 60.00 Quinella boxed that paid 10.80 u would take 30x the 10.80 to come up with the 324.00 u suggested? Thanks hc

for every 2.00 you wagered on a quin bet , you won 10.80 correct

Next time, famous last words, it will be a different story! Still have myself winning 287.00 on the race once i factor in my straight bet of 50 to win and 50 to place! I'll take that!!!!! And u to a dinner next time your in Monterey,Ca.!!!! Would love to go to track class with u and pick your brain so that i could have a bettor understanding. I will say outright if I like a certain horse or dog to win it going away , but its rare that I do such ( Or Gary ) for that matter . I list them as a " Watch " which means as I do with alot of them 40.00 across the board in the ponies and in races that all 3 hit I am a big winner , in races that only two hit I usually still win a little , in races that only one shows I have cut my loses by however much that show price is . For example :

120.00 outlay across the board on all 3

1 wins / 1 places / 1 shows :

I get ( win/place/show & place/show & show prices for all three Times 20 )

1 places / 1 shows :

I lose 40.00 right off the top but gather in the 20 times a place & show & a show again

1 shows :

I lose 80.00 right off the top , but in some cases can still recover alot of my wager if its a decent price to show ( like 5.00 to 7.00 )

Its a very safe way to wager them , and you wont get rich over night but you wont lose you hind-end either. After that I do alot of my gimmick wagers as to exatas and tris and supers that is over and beyond my others .

Enjoyed my day @ the track even though i never saw a single race! Believe now I am somewhat ready to go live. However, i understand why naps are needed because a lot of hard work goes into winning!
