Season record: 11-19, -10.01 UNITS
All lines from Pinnacle Sports, effective as of 4/14/2004, 02:58:10 AM - PST. Listed pitchers must start.
HOU (MILLER) -131 over STL (Carpenter) - 2 UNITS - 10:10am Pacific
Miller was great in his debut (6IP, 4 hits, 2 ER, 7Ks, 0 BB), but I also like this because of his history against the Cards. In his last 12 starts against them, he has a 3.16 ERA and .181 BAA. Similar dominant numbers were posted at Busch during that span, and he doesn't seem to have any problems with their current lineup. Should get good run support, as Houston's offense is clicking right now, and they will be facing a hittable pitcher. Carpenter picked up a W in his debut, but didn't look pretty in doing so. Miller is probably one of the best number 4 starters in the game, and this is a nice price against an average number 4.
OVER 10 KC (AFFELDT)/CHW (GARLAND) -113 - 1 UNIT - 11:05am Pacific
Could this finally be the year when the Sox's righty dominated lineup starts pounding lefties? They've only played six games against lefties so far, but they've been tearing it up. To be sure, Affeldt may turn into one of the better pitcher's in the game, but he hasn't really shown anything yet. He doesn't get too deep into games, and KC has a questionable bullpen. Garland amazingly gave up ony 1 ER in his last game, despite issuing 7 walks. He's always had control problems, which will put him in danger of giving up bunches of runs. Factor in a weak bullpen and 119 pitches thrown in his last start and hopefully this will go over.
PLEASE NOTE: All wagers are recommended for a "base" unit. Thus a side for 1 UNIT at -110 should be considered risking 1.10 UNITS to win 1.00 UNITS, while a team at +110 should be considered risking 1.00 UNITS to win 1.10 UNITS.
In addition to daily tracking of +/- UNITS we have started a Pinnacle account with an initial deposit of $2300 (+$230 bonus) for a starting bankroll of $2530. Base unit will be 4% of total bankroll.
Beginning Bankroll: $2530
Current Bankroll: $1 542.65
Today's base unit: $61.71

Free Winners for Wednesday, April 14
MLB BASEBALL
Minnesota @ Cleveland
Pick: OVER 9.5
Time: 8:10 PM EST
Today the National Sports Advisors look for Minnesota and Cleveland to score over 9.5 runs, when they matchup tonight in Cleveland.
The Minnesota Twins are the two-time defending AL Central champions, but they *****'t had much success over the division rival Cleveland Indians. Minnesota looks to snap a two-game losing streak when it plays the second of a three-game set against Cleveland at Jacobs Field.
The Twins have played well since the start of the 2002 season, and have won back-to-back division titles. The Indians, meanwhile, are 42 games under .500 over that same span.
Minnesota, however, has had trouble with Cleveland, and that continued on Monday with a 6-3 loss in the Indians' home opener. The Twins and Indians have split four games between them this season, and Minnesota holds just a 23-19 record in the series since the beginning of 2002.
The Twins' pitching has been poor to start this season, and on Monday, Minnesota allowed five or more runs for the sixth time in its first seven games. The Twins have lost four of five since beating the Indians in the first two games of the season.

NHL HOCKEY
Toronto @ Ottawa
Pick: Toronto +135
Time: 7:00 PM EST
Today the Vegas Sports Insiders look for Toronto to win as +135 underdogs, when they matchup tonight with the Senators in Ottawa.
Ottawa Senators fans surely will be back twirling white flags at the Corel Centre.
Their team could be waving them in surrender to Ed Belfour.
It's been well over two hours of ice time since the Senators last scored on Belfour and the Toronto Maple Leafs heading into Game 4 of this quarterfinal series.
By posting shutouts in the last two games, Belfour has staked Toronto to a 2-1 series lead. Ottawa has not put the puck past him since early in the third period of its Game 1 win -- a span of 138 minutes, 21 seconds.
A sellout Corel Centre crowd of 18,500 waved white towels to encourage the Senators as the series shifted to Ottawa on Monday, but the frantic fans did not faze Belfour as the Leafs won 2-0. The 15-year veteran made 37 saves Monday after stopping 31 shots in a 2-0 win in Game 2.
Belfour's success in this series is a continuation of the regular season, when he went 3-0-1 against the Leafs while allowing just four goals.Oh, this is the worst-looking hat I ever saw. What, when you buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh? Oh, it looks good on you though.
