Wednesday NIT Basketball...........
Went 2-1 in last nights NIT action, these are my plays for tonight......
3 STAR: Villanova (+1.5) OVER RUTGERS
Nova is 12-3 against the spread as an underdog this season and 9-2 against the spread on the road. Rutgers pulled off a 3 point win at Villanova earlier in the season in a game where the Wildcats only shot 37% from the field and 3-20 from three point range, while Rutgers was 10-21 from behind the line. I look for a better performance from Nova in this game, and they are 8-3 against the spread when revenging a home loss against an opponent over the last three seasons. Take the points!
2 STAR: Hawaii (+8) OVER MICHIGAN
I really wanted to take Michigan here, after the Bows screwed me Monday night, but Michigan has not been anything special at home. The Wolverines are only 7-6 against the spread at home and they are 1-5 against the spread in their last six games as a home favorite of 6.5 to 9 points. Michigan is also only 4-6 against the spread when playing with one or less days rest and 8-9 against the spread when playing a team with a winning record this season. Hawaii has to make the long trip after playing Monday night also, but the Bows are 22-14 against the spread the last three seasons when playing with one or less days rest and they have actually done pretty well on the road this season posting a 7-4 record against the spread. Take the points!
