  • Monday's Hoops

Been looking at this game for a while now, and here's what I've come up with.
7:05 Mavericks -8/194 at 76ers ; The line on this game originally opened up Mavericks -4 and has jumped all the way up to minus 8. The public is basing this game off the 76ers last game at Miami were they got hammered 69-101. Remember one thing, that was the last game, over and done with. NBA teams scoring 69 or less points have been a 63% play on situation over the past 2 seasons!
    3-14-04 76ers L 69-85 at Det, next gm L79-82 at Memphis W+7
    2-23-04 76ers L66-76 vs Det, next gm L75-86 at ATL L+2 1/2
    11-17-04 76ers L66-74 vs Houst, next gm W81-75 at Tor W+7

So this year the 76ers are 2-1 in this scenairo for a 66.6% winning percentage. Now lets look at some other situations. The 76ers longest losing streak on the year has been 4 games in a row, which they currently are on one. This is the fourth time this season they have lost 4 in a row, here's what happened their next game after losing 4 in a row. 3-22-04 Pending vs Mavericks tonight getting +8 pts. 2-29-04 76ers won 81-74 vs Twolves as a 8 1/2 pt homedog the game went under 178. 1-30-04 76ers won 85-82 vs N Orleans as a 1 1/2 pt homedog the game went under 179. 1-3-04 76ers won 83-77 At Spurs as a 13 pt roaddog and the game went under 166 1/2.

Next situation, the 76ers are in a 7 game chop scenairo. After a road lose and their next game up is at home starting with the most previous situation; 76ers have L, W, L W, L, W, L. Due factor for this game is a win. Now I know Allen Iverson isn't suppose to be playing in this game tonight, but the 76ers can play some intense defensive especially at home, were they currently have won their last 3 home games SU/ATS. A smart play on this game is taking the 76ers +8 pts on a straight bet, and parlay bet the 76ers +8/under 194, because the 76ers have won/gone under each game after their fourth consecutive loss. Some service is blowing off about their NBA parlay of the month and I would bet my last dollar this is it! I'm playing the 76ers +8 for 3 units, and I'm parlaying the 76ers with under 194 for 1 unit. Might even play a two team 4 pt teaser for 1 unit for even money.

Playing the Pacers -12 (bougth the hook -1.20) for 3 units! This is a great play on situation. The Pacers are currently on a 2 game losing streak. They have not lost 3 games in a row yet this season and are returning home to play the Bulls tonight. The Pacers have had 2 other 2 game losing streaks this year and have responded well each game after their 2 game losing streaks. They won 101-79 vs Suns, Winning -11 ATS and won 94-86 vs Memphis, winning -7 ATS. The Pacers have also beaten the Bulls 6 of the last 10 meetings by double digits, winning by 19, 51, 15, 12, 15, and 25 pts. The bulls have lost 17 of their 34 road games by double digits this year!

In College hoops I'm playing N Dame -5 1/2 (bought the hook) for 3 units. St Louis is 5-8 in road/neutral court games and have lost 7 of those 8 games by more than 5 1/2 points. Just feel Notre Dame is the stronger team here and playing in the Big East, they definitely played in the stronger conference as you can see who's still around in the Big Dance. St Louis is averaging 59.1 ppg on the road/neutral courts and their opponents are averaging 64.9 ppg against them for a -5.8 scoring margin (line is currently 6 imagine that). Notre Dame is +3.4 scoring margin in the same scenairo giving us 3.2 points of value. Playing N Dame -5 1/2 pts for 2 units.

Opinions, but not plays, Michigan over 124 1/2, Rutgers -5 1/2, but you have a revenge factor here as they clubbed WV 74-53 at Rutgers earlier this year, and I would have to think Hawaii is the play in their game because Nebraska is awful on the road, even thou they did pull one out at Creighton their last game. Winning back to back road games can be tough.
