They were saying that their was retirement talk earlier this year about the ref making most of the horrible calls. The ref came out recently and said thet wasn't going to be the case. We will see after this game. Everyone else in the world is seeing the same thing.

They also said that their is a good chance this veteran ref may be working in the final four.

Kellogg Gumbel and the half time crew said the game plan HAS TO BE GONZAGA ADJUSTING TO THE REF IN THE GAME!! Did anyone else hear what I just did???

I heard the same thing. I have never heard them say something let that before. So basically don't worry about adjusting to NEVADA. You have to adjust to the REF

This just blows my mind. That they can let a REF take a team out of the Tourney and in my mind maybe the best team in the country.

I don't know blaming the ref how about Blake Stepp shooting 20% and Nevada playing tough interior defense on Violette. Gonzaga played in a crap conference and went up against a team that had plenty of tough competition in the WAC.

There is the 3 guys and yes John Clougherty is the old guy.
Not to be aganst old guys, but for years he has ben in the spotlight. I like most of you lost on the game but the officials did not lose the game. How many putbacks did we see missed. And yes with Turiaf playing we had a better chance.
2 things I think should be brought up are.
1. How long has it ben that Zags were pushed?
2. How much respect has Nev and there confrence gotten. Not much.

This is a great point and I for one love the Nevada team on how they played this year in conference......saw several games and they monitarily treated me great this year! BUTTTTTTTTTTTT

WHICH IS WHY THEY WERE NO WHERE CLOSE IN TALENT OVERALL IN THIS GAME.......

To put Turiaff on the Bench in the first few seconds of the game with 2 fouls......to have him come back later in the first to play a matter of seconds to get his third and back to the bench.....to start the 2nd H and tweet him for his 4th in a matter of seconds.....which sets him down ESSENTIALLY FOR THE ENTIRE GAME......BUT WHAT IS WORSE......Is that the old fossil has now taken the entire game plan from opening tip away from the Zags and refused to allow them to play on an equal court.

THAT IS THE SHAME OF THE GAME......WITH NATIONAL ANNOUNCERS expounding that the Zags would have to try and figure out a system around this guy for the second half is totally unforgiveab by the NCAA to allow it to happen. One team running rampant with a green light and blank check...hacking and charging with impunity...the other having to play handcuffed with a ball and chain around each ankle knowing if they jump in the air they will be called for charging......I am surprised the Zags could keep it to a 20 point loss.....absolutely disgusting!!

You are correct about Stepps stats.......but when you depend on your offensive scheme running through the big man to get your shots.......any shooters percentage in that scheme would tank!

No sour grapes here......I lost the game and still like Nevada,.....I just hate the way that the game was 6 on 5 at the onset.......Foul totals were tried to even out after the old man had already done his damage and got his check.

Hope Nevada wins their next but I don't think they will have the stripes on their side this time.....but a plus point cover may be in the stars for em!

I usually don't buy into the fixed of paid off ref thing, and I don't think one game proves anything, but things start to look fishy when it happens in multiple games.

Remember when Nevada beat Kansas earlier in the year? Kansas was in all kinds of foul trouble and anytime they would try to make a run they would have a real questionable call go against them. I even remember the announcers compaining about the calls. I was on Kansas that night and just chalked it up to one of those games where the calls go against you. Guess who the ref was that was making those calls? Yep, Clougherty.

Now it is interesting that this happened again today with him involved. I had Nevada as a first half play, but didnt touch the whole game. But so many of those calls were just crazy. And look who is involved again, Clougherty and Nevada. Is he in debt to someone is Reno? It really makes you wonder!!!
