Prediction: Orlando Magic

Reason: Ai simulator First Tier Level (1-star) play on Orlando

Orlando is in disarray and I mean the entire organization from the top to the bottom. The Magic played their first game Saturday night a day after their new general manager -- a throwback hockey guy -- publicly criticized them for being "an easy team to play against."
They played with Seattle for 3 quarters, but when Seattle got the lead in the 4th it was quitting time. So why would I want to back a quitter like this? You will see shortly.

Consider that Seattle (28-38) had lost its past six games and scored just 74 points in a loss Friday night to the Miami Heat.The Sonics couldn't wait to get to Orlando for a vacation. Now, it is the Magic's turn to go on vacation with a 4 game road trip to the West Coast. The best medicine possible for this ailing team.

The Ai simulator is the sole reason for this play and I want to make that perfectly clear to all. The fundamentals here and supporting cast of trends and systems only support the graded play - making more sense and reason out of the play.

The Lakers are not exactly a cohesive group either and they have a well documented history of not playing well against the poor teams in the league under the Jackson regime. What was supposed to the dream season and the 109th ring for Jackson has turned into one of the Zen Master's greatest works. I think you would agree that when the press is bashing a team everyday in the papers that team does perform a whole lot better on the road.

And no, Weisbrod -- the chief operating officer who replaced John Gabriel as general manager on Friday -- didn't see his players put any of the Sonics on the seat of their green-and-gold pants. No one was playing as if his future was on the line. Truth is that NBA players that are the norm - not Super Stars - know that they may be traded and they don't want to be known as "quitters" by the scouts. It only reduces their contract value. I do expect Orlando to play better on this West Coast trip and perhaps win 3 of the 4 games ATS.

Supporting this graded play is the fact that LA LAKERS are 2-8 ATS (-6.8 Units) after 5 straight games - allowing a shooting pct. of 42% or less this season. LA LAKERS are 1-6 ATS (-5.6 Units) when playing 9 or more games in 14 days over the last 3 seasons
