Going to post my play for today's early action now. I'll post the rest of today's plays in a while. Lets try to keep this roll going! This is my early play........


2 STAR: INDIANA (+8.5) OVER Illinois

This looks like it should be an easy win for the Illini, but I think the Hoosiers can hang in here. The Big Ten #1 seed has not had a good history in this tournament. No #1 seeded team has won the Big Ten tournament in the six years of it's existence and four of the #1 seeds have lost their first game in the tournament. The Illini have won both times against Indiana this year, but they were tough 1 and 2 point wins. Indiana has the inside game to keep this one close as Illinois has struggled with interior defense, they were out rebounded by Indiana in the previous two games by nine rebounds and they allowed the Hoosiers to grab 24 offensive rebounds in those games. Indiana also has the home court advantage with the Big 10 tournament being held at the Canseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis and they are 4-2 against the spread versus Illinois in the last six meetings. Take the points here!

Here are the rest of my plays for the day.........


3 STAR: UAB (-1) OVER DePaul

I like the Blazers in this spot. Both of these teams are playing well, but I find it strange that the #4 seed is a small favorite over the #1 seed. DePaul won the earlier meeting this season but UAB is a solid 12-4 against the spread over the last three seasons when revenging a road loss. The Blazers have also been great in conference tournament games posting a 5-0 record against the spread the last three seasons and they are also a solid 15-7 against the spread in their last 22 neutral court games. I look for a better performance by UAB this time around against DePaul, in the first meeting they only shot 37% from the field and 44% from the free throw line, they should improve on that today. Vegas made them a favorite for a reason, I think they get the win here!



3 STAR: ALABAMA (+2.5) OVER Florida

Alabama is on a roll, they are a very dangerous team that is playing their best ball of the season right now. The Tide of won 5 out of 6 games straight up and have covered the number in six straight games. Their only loss in that span was by one point against Mississippi State. This team is very capable of winning this SEC tournament, and I look for them to knock of the underachieving Gators in this one. The Gators are only 28-37 against the spread the last three seasons when playing a team with a winning record and they are running into a team that is red hot. 'Bama is a solid 8-3 against the spread as an underdog this season, and I look for them to get the win here. Roll Tide!

2 STAR: MIAMI-OHIO (+5) OVER Kent
2 STAR: BYU (-2.5) OVER Utah
2 STAR: UTEP (+1) OVER Boise State
