I had asked you in another one of your threads....

Are you going to the opener the 13th?

    Bennojd replies:
I don't think I will be attending the Chicago White Sox home opener on April 13th...........at least I have no plans to go as of yet.
Nobody I know has tickets to that game.
They host the KC Royals that day at 1:05pm/CST.

    Why??.........are you going??

    Go Sox

Stuck in Colorado with hopes that the Sox can crush the ugly cubs.

Maybe I am dumb, but I don't understand the point of the discussion.

        savage 1

HUNGlikeabear, a BettorsChat veteran from Chicago and apparently a White Sox fan had asked me (Bennojd.........also from Chicago) if I was going to the Chicago White Sox home opener in another thread (SEE THE LAST POST IN THE ATTACHED THREAD LINK):
        http://bettorschat.com/forums/showth...threadid=27576

So, instead of replying and "bumping up" that thread; I started this new thread which is targeted specifically to HUNGlikeabear.
The reason HUNGlikeabear, who I don't know personally, asked me if I was going to the game was surely because he saw my avatar and also the permanent saying I have attached at the end of all my posts.

Then Pwong8543, a BettorsChat Pro (originally from Chicago I believe) who now lives in Colorado replied that he likes the "Southside" White Sox also and hopes they do better than their "Northside" rivals, the Chicago Cubs.

If you are not from Chicago, you would not know that many Sox fans don't like the Cubs and vice versa. The Cubs get all the media attention here and the White Sox are "second fiddle." When the Cubs made it to the playoffs last year it was sickening to see so many in the media all claim that they "love the Cubs." The Cubs, even though they have had many losing seasons spanning decades have always sold out nearly every home game as yuppies and die-hard Cub fans don't seem to care whether they win or lose.
That is not the case for the White Sox........if they are not winning then they will not sell out their home games.
The northside (yuppies) and southside (blue collar) have many differences that contribute to the whole White Sox vs. Cubs thing also.

SEE MY PERMANENT SAYING ATTACHED AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST...........

Does that clear things up for you, Savage1??

Thanks Bennojd for the reply. Couldn't have said it better myself:D

At least our slugger doesn't need various forms of "help" to hit the baseball.

            HUNGlikeabear:

            I agree w/ you totally!
Do you remember what that Cubs slugger looked like in the early 90's when he played for the WhiteSox?........what a drastic "night and day"difference!

Are you going to the opener?
I try to get to a few games each season; a couple of years ago my brother-in-law had season tickets but not anymore.
I have no problem when I walk up to the box office window and buy tickets on game day as there are usually plenty of tickets available for most games.
If you go to any games this year........let me know and maybe we can hook up.

            Later,
            Bennojd

I go to the opener every year with a group of 10-15.

I'm really hoping this year's weather is better than last years. That was the worst.

I'll try to remember to let you know when I go to another, but like you said, the walk-up situation is rather easy. I don't really have to plan ahead to go unless it is opening day or the wife-beating cheater is playing on the South side with the lovable losers.
