  • college hoops for Tues., 3-2-04

Record: (41-23-1)........includes all posted college basketball picks since Sat., 2-14-04.

Like on Monday, I narrowed today's card down to three plays that I like. I will bet each of these plays with my "normal wager amount."
    -------------------------------------------------------------
    TUES., MARCH 2ND, 2004........college basketball
*the game times I listed are central times*

    1. 6pm - MICHIGAN STATE (-2 1/2) over wisconsin [LOSS]
NOTE: I strongly recommend buying a half point to (-2).

    2. 6pm - SYRACUSE (-1 1/2 or -2) over west virginia [WIN]
NOTE: I recommend buying a half point at either of these lines even though I don't normally do it from (-2) to (-1 1/2).

    3. 6:30pm - PROVIDENCE (-3) over pittsburgh [LOSS]

*Update: (1-2) tonight for an updated record of (42-25-1) in posted college hoop picks since Sat., 2-14-04*

Good luck........I hope everyone has a winning night!!

I agree with tony. I for one don't like being against you. But one of us will win at least

I would rather not say what my "normal wager amount" is because I don't think it's really that important.

However, I will say that for the most part every wager I make is for the same amount of money.
I don't wager in units as many bettors do because I probably would wind up with a great record on my "one star" bets and a lousy record on my "five stars." It would kill my confidence if I had a winning record and still lost money!! Also, I don't necessarily think that any one play is ever that much stronger than another no matter how good a game may look...........I've seen "10 star plays" lose badly and "one star plays" win big at times.
On occasion I will bet (1 1/2 times) my "normal wager amount" or even (double) if I like a play that much.
But for the most part all my bets are the same amount and I will change that amount as my bankroll increases (or decreases). There has to be a nice increase (or decrease) in my bankroll in order for me to change my "normal wager amount."
I like to bet around 2.5% of my bankroll on each play........I think a good rule of thumb is between 2% & 5% but I'm comfortable with 2.5%.

                I hope that helps!!

Not the kind of night I hoped for; I thought there was a good chance to get two of three tonight but it wasn't meant to be!!

Syracuse came through nicely but Michigan St. lost a tough one in OT!! I was checking the score of that (Mich. St./ Wisc.) game on my PC and saw a score of 50-46 in favor of State for the longest time. Neither team scored in a stretch of about three minutes near the end of the game.
Right then and there I figured that since State couldn't put the game away during that period of time Wisconsin would eventually get closer..........sure enough: they forced OT and usually when that happens I can count on a loss........and that's exactly what I got.
Providence was just a bad call!!

I took a peek at Wednesday's games and there is a big card!! Hopefully, with the many opportunities that a big card presents; I can get back on the winning track!!

Congrats to those that had Wisconsin and Pitt!!
I hope everyone had a winning night!!

                  Sincerely,
                  Bennojd
