Tuesday NCAA Basketball and NBA System Play....

Went 2-0 in college hoops last night, but had a tough loss in the NBA and in Arena Football, but still a profitable day +3.7 units! These are my plays for Tuesday....



NCAA BASKETBALL



3 STAR: Connecticut (-23.5) OVER ST. JOHNS

I usually don't believe in the "due" theory. But I believe this is the case here. UCONN has not covered in 4 straight games, while the Johnnies have covered their last two games beating Georgetown and losing by one point at Virginia Tech. Don't get suckered into taking the points here. Take the Huskies or don't play it. BLOWOUT!!!


2 STAR: Pittsburgh (-7) OVER GEORGETOWN

Georgetown can't shoot and they turn the ball over at an alarming rate. Pittsburgh is number four in the nation in scoring defense and should totally shutdown the Hoyas here. Georgetown is only 2-7 against the spread at home this season. Another blowout here!


2 STAR: Michigan State (+2) OVER MICHIGAN

State is 9-2 straight up the last 11 meetings. Michigans win over Wisky on Sunday gives us some line value here. Spartans win!


1 STAR: Alabama (+3.5) OVER AUBURN

I like Alabama to ride the momentum of thier win over Mississippi State into this game. The Tide is 6-3 against the spread as an underdog this season. Auburn is only 1-5 against the spread when revenging a 20 point or more blowout loss versus an opponent the last three seasons. Alabama wins here!


1 STAR: North Carolina (-5.5) OVER VIRGINIA

Carolina has not been a good play on the road, espically as a favorite, but I look for a great game from them here. The Tar Heels are 4-1 against the spread versus Virginia over the last 3 seasons. Lay the points!

1 STAR: SAN ANTONIO (-6) OVER Houston

The Spurs have owned the Rockets and have won 12 straight at home against Houston. This is the Rockets third game in four nights and are coming off of a triple overtime game on Sunday. Weary legs and a tough Spurs defense should get the job done here. The Rockets are only 2-4 against the spread in a road game where the total is 169.5 or less this season. Lay the points!

ez I respect you as a capper so I want your opinion. If I have $2000.00 in my account what unit system should I use?

EZ- I was hoping you had an opinion on Rider and OSU. Both I am going to take tonight. I might be getting sucked in on the OSU -1 line, but if I lose, I will go down with a boat load of people. I am coattailing it on the Rider pick. I was told two of their players are out (Smith and another).

Also, Derek, I think most people think that 1 unit should be 1% of you bankroll, maybe even 2%. This would put you at:

1% = $20
or
2%=$40
depending upon which you would want to go with. I think you could go with either one, but this is coming from a guy that has just started betting a few years ago. I will tell you that the most important thing is to be consistant with your bets. If you go with 1%, you will be able to weather the bad times, and still make some scratch to buy something nice for the woman or that flat screen you have been looking at through the window. If you bet several game a day, I think you will find plenty of your cash will be on the line with 1-2%. Good luck to all

Purple, I agree! I'd play 1% of my bankroll on 1 unit selections. Playing 2% on 1 unit is too high because 10% of bankroll on a 5 unit selections is too high.

The guys are right, 1% per unit would be about right.

I would also have to go with Oklahoma State. This is one of those games where you wonder if you are getting suckered into a trap. I would take State or nothing at all. Missouri has not showen that they can beat any of the top teams.

As far as Rider, I would be carefull with that one. I would actually lean towards Iona, with or without all their players.

1 STAR: MIAMI (+3) OVER Seton Hall

Does this line look fishy or what? The Hall is only laying three against Miami who has lost nine straight games? I'll bite on this one and take the Canes who are 6-4 against the spread as an underdog this season. Seton Hall is 0-2 against the spread this season as a road favorite of three points or less and 3-7 against the spread in that role since 1997. I'll take the points here!
