  • Has anyone noticed ?

Now I know its the NBA and some people dont like to go there ( myself included ) but some very strong trends have floating around out there and was just wondering if anyone had been cashing on them .

Minn. Timberwolves are a 10-1 under in the 1st half when priced @ 85.5 to 90.5 totals in road games

Utah Jazz where a astonishing 16- 0 under 1st half in thier last 16 games , but the bubble got burst tonight as they fall to 16-1 and they have failed to score in the 90`s since the new year .

Looking for info on these things as we speak !

MMM...........nice trends there but wouldnt u start fading these since IMHO most ATS #'s tend to be near even at years end for any sport (yes there are some aberations like MS St this year:angryfire ) most of the time

So for instance If I were to play a Utah total for the first half...........I would almost always take the OVER now since totals have got to be adjusted by now?

    Just my thoughts

    PEACE

After discovering this and seeing that they finally went over in one , I was of the same opinion .

We know that adjustments have been made ( no doubt ) and these linesmakers are not getting egg in the face to long so now that they have reversed the trend it seems logical to start looking the other way now .

That's great stuff.. Last year and the year before in all Denver games or it could have been just the there home games I forget the Under in the 2nd half was Gold The book just couldn't make the number low enough. It went from one year right into the next But a Diff team this year with mello and co so I couldn't tell you how it's doing this year. But trends like this are great would have liked to picked up on this a little sooner. But great stuff something to look out for.

Make it 17-1 after tonight , they only scored 63 points in the 1st half and the books where a full 30 points off the mark and I aint complaining a bit .

I was watching that on the scoreboard earlier and will be on the next one. The Books have no idea how to make the over/under for them.

              Nice job just like normal

I disagree! Many trends over time do even out. Some don't. Don't forget the Vegas linemakers job is to even out the betting. Do you think Vegas sits there and says 'Twolves are 10-1 1st half under' lets adjust. I don't believe they do. I do believe they do some fine tuning but not to the extent you suggest. They adjust for injuries, back-to-back games and such.

Also, there's many trends/systems that still exceed 58-60% over 10 years. At what point do you start fading them. If you started fading them after a few years you'd lose a shit load of money.

I don't subscribe to the 'fade' theory. At what point do you start fading? I've seen many gamblers lose tons of money 'waiting' for a team to FINALLY cover. I call that chasing not fading.

One more point why I don't believe Vegas adjusts. This thread is a perfect example. There's some players who start fading. Some players ride it out. The gamblers did the adjusting for Vegas.

No linemaker has the time to analysize every trend for every team for every game. I could probably find a trend for every game. Most games you can find opposing trends.

I believe Vegas has adjusted Utah 1H. Today against Indiana the 1H o/u is 80 1/2 while the game is 167. I believe since this post started there has been one more under against NY on 2/20 in the 1H

                      " One More Time "

Under 9 minutes and under 50 points to go in the first half , looks like another solid under " once again " ! :D

                      Make that 18-1 ( and counting )

ps - open mouth and in comes M. Ruffin and manages to stop the clock 6 times in the last 4 minutes with personals = 3 , tech. fouls = 1 and he must have a dollar or two on the over and sunk my ship

the under is now 1-2 in Utahs last 3 games for the first half...............im not suggesting that its gonna even out in the next 16 games Frank but what I am suggesting is a balnace that favors the over say 9-7 or 10-6 for the OVERS............its just the law of averages to a small extent

i think that in the next 20 games Laker games will hit the over at a clip 0f 60% or so

                          JMHO

I agree with your statement above. However, I don't agree with it bc Vegas adjusted the line. I think because the Lakers are finally healthy.

You could do just as well by flipping a coin when it comes to trying to cap Lakers games or the over/under.
Unless you know what the script is for that particular game or what mindset is of certain Laker players down the stretch when pointspread or total is up for grabs, you are just guessing;I mean this in all sincerity.
There just have been too many instances over the past few years of strange happenings in last few minutes of too many of their games to think it is just sheer coincidence.
