Championships. In all sports it seems to be this way and it's been known for a long time.
Offense put people in the seats, defense wins the big games.
I think the only sports this really doesn't apply to that much is college basketball
In football, it's the great defenses that go a long way, for example the pats and panthers just this year. In basketball, it was the Spurs last year. In baseball, it's a little different, but it mainly comes down to the pitching, proven by the Cubs and Marlins last year. These are all very recent championships too, anyone can always go back to Pittsburg classic steel curtain and any other numerous examples in history. Bottom line is most of the time more than not, defense wins.
With all this said, screw the Yankees, :angryfire I hate them.
