Penn qualifies in a very strong 102-31-4 ATS big road favorite situation and an incredible 59-10-1 ATS subset applies that is 20-1 ATS the last few years and 5-0 for me this season. My ratings favor the Quakers by 10 points and I’ll lay up to 11 points with Penn in a Best Bet and I’ll consider the Quakers a 3-Star as long as the line is fair.
Downgrade Penn to a 2-Star Best Bet if they are favored by more than 10 points.

Dartmouth is just 33-55-1 ATS in 14 years under coach Dave Faucher, including 13-37 ATS more recently. Yale, meanwhile, is now 40-14-3 ATS on the road, including 34-12-3 ATS under current coach James Jones. Aside from the vast home-road dichotomy, the Big Green of Dartmouth apply to a negative 27-59-1 ATS weak home court situation and my ratings favor Yale by 8 ½ points in this game.
Downgrade Yale to a 2-Star Best Bet if they are favored by more than 7 points.

Cornell has been considerably better in Ivy League play than the Tigers have and the Big Red have a chance tonight to solidify themselves as title contenders. Princeton’s 52-67 home loss to Penn during earlier this week is not a good omen for them, as the Tigers apply in a very negative 16-65-1 ATS situation that is based on that loss. Cornell is coming off a bad game too (a 48-67 loss at Yale), but the Big Red don’t qualify in any negative situations based on that loss, and they are 28-14 ATS in games after a loss in 4 seasons under Steve Donahue, including 8-0 ATS recently. In contrast, Princeton is just 3-11 ATS under coach Thompson in games after exactly 1 loss (they’re a better 8-2 ATS after back-to-back losses). I’ll take Cornell in a solid 3- Star Best Bet.

Friday, Jan. 13. ARENA LEAGUE FOOTBALL. Georgia over TAMPA BAY. Georgia is off of an opening week home loss to the New York Dragons. However, the stats were actually equal in that game. In fact, Georgia only trailed 33 to 28 early in the 4th quarter so the final score of 54 to 28 was misleading. Especially since the key difference in the game was turnovers. Force QB Murray threw two costly INTs including one that was run back for a touchdown. Look for a bounce-back effort from Murray and the Force as they face a division rival this week in Tampa Bay. The Storm opened up their season last week at home versus Orlando. We're not ashamed to admit we had the Predators in that match-up and it was our one loss in a one and one weekend. The reason we say we were not ashamed is because Orlando actually out-gained Tampa Bay by 100 yards and yet still lost. Keep in mind 100 yards is two football fields in Arena Football. That said, Tampa Bay was very fortunate to get a win. The big difference was 12 penalties on the Predators in that game. Keep in mind this was a big game for the defending Arena Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Storm as the Predators are their most competitive division rival. In fact, last season they finished tied at 12-4 at the top of the standings.

In summary, Tampa Bay is off a big win against a strong division rival and Georgia is off of a misleading final against a non-conference foe. This game means a lot more to Georgia then it does to Tampa Bay. We are well aware of the fact that Georgia is 0 and 4 against Tampa Bay since the Force moved from Nashville in 2001 BUT we are also well aware that Georgia doesn't have to win to get the money. We like the big points with a solid Force squad. Play Georgia plus the points in Arena Football on Friday night.
