  • Super Bowl LIV San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The most exciting football game of the season takes place this Sunday when the Kansas City Chiefs face the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LIV. It’ll be a classic showdown between offense and defense, with the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense being close to perfect under Andy Reid. But the old adage suggests that defense wins championships, and the San Francisco 49ers possess one of the best. They gave up the fewest yards per game during the regular season, and were able to shut down two dangerous offenses in the Vikings and Packers. Neither Minnesota nor Green Bay had Patrick Mahomes under center, however, so this Sunday will be the true measure of San Fran’s defensive prowess.

In their first two postseason games, Mahomes absolutely shredded the secondary of Houston and Tennessee. The defending MVP has an insane 131.5 QB rating and has thrown 8 TDs to five different receivers over those games. But San Fran is a different beast than most.

The 49ers have arguably the best defensive line in football, and with nine sacks in two postseason games, they made Aaron Rodgers and Kirk Cousins look pedestrian. If they can contain Mahomes and take his time away, Super Bowl LIV may be headed to the Bay this year. Kick-off is a 6:30 PM ET, so be sure to tune in.
