Here are the Top-25 and Double-Digit Favorites Trends breakdown of Week 5:
Top-25 Teams
Week 5 SU: 16-4
Running Total SU: 92-22
Week 5 ATS: 10-10
Running Total ATS: 57-54-3
Double-Digit Spreads (FBS vs FBS)
Week 5 SU: 23-0
Running Total SU: 119-12
Week 5 ATS: 10-13
Running Total ATS: 70-59-2
Totals in Games with Double-Digit Spreads (FBS vs FBS)
Week 5: 11 Overs (longest streak: 3 'Over' games) 11 Unders (longest streak: 6 'Under' games) 1 Push
Thru 9/29: 63 Overs (longest streak: 4 games) 65 Unders (longest streak: 7 games) 3 Pushes
Overview: As predicted in last week's overview, the double-digit dogs did win the week (10-13). The totals in these games are still steady at about a 50/50 clip at 63-65-3 (o-u-p). That is still just crazy to me. I thought we'd see some sort of different result as the Overs built an 11-5-1 advantage. But in those later double-digit FBS vs FBS games, 6-straight Unders came in (LT-RICE, UTEP-SOMIS, USA-ULM, OSU-NEB, CSU-USU and FRES-NMSU). Simply amazing...
Note: Lines are according to Covers closing lines. Order of games is determined by time of kick-off. If time of kickoff is the same, I sort by Rotation Number... just to clarify...
Speaking of which, we have two such games that fit the mold tonight (although if USA drops another half-point, it won't qualify). I'll be back with some plays shortly...
