  • Early Birds early bowls

    (ytd 18-25-1)
    (BOC) uab -1½ noill
    (BAH) fiu +6 toledo
    (ARF) army -3 hou
    (HAW) latch HAW 59½ov
Bowl season has changed somewhat the past few seasons. Not only the gamut of the toilet bowls and cheese-whiz sponsors, but now you have players who want to go pro and want nothing to do with the cheesiness of the 40+ contests and battles of 6-6 slops. With the mediocrity of the 8 teams I have listed here, there shouldnt be much an issue. Certainly Toledo never wants to be a part of this as they have lost the past 2 chum bowls they've been dragged into (both as favorites, both versus Appalachian State), but here they are again. IN a clash of mighty defenses, UAB has a decided edge over the NIU brigade. Cougars had a lot bigger aspirations, now they're relegated to this contest that Army feels proud to be in. Hawaii has the Christmas luau cooking (wish they still played this on Christmas Day), and with that defense , they will welcome in with open arms the Bulldogs who don't have to do much to get to their projected 30+ points. Eearly Birds later bowls pt2:
      (ALA) washst iowast 53½ov
      (ORA) ala okla un77½
      (COT) ndame +13 clem
      (HOL) nw +7½ utah
      (GAT) txa&m ncst 58ov
      (FIE) ucf +7½ lsu

More motivational reasoning for some of these dogs to do well, especially Irish getting disrespected here and Evanston getting more than a TD versus a Ute offence who has problems. Cougars will be indoors on fast track, whilst Purdy for the Cyclones should create some fireworks against the wazoo defenders. Auld Lang Zyne$!
