While neither defense played great, stars did line up for N.E. Kickoff out of bounds and biggest blunder was safety playing 8 yards too deep on 3rd and 3 last posesson. Poor mistake and way to lose f or a defensive minded team.
Wayne, obviously I watched the damn game. New England had chances again and again to put Carolina away, and couldn't do it. The game goes to OT and suddenly they're at the mercy of a coin flip (remember St. Louis?). This Panthers team was not very good, and New England nonetheless let them keep it close.
Jealous? No. The 1985 Bears earned me a lifetime of football satisfaction (or so I tell myself).
Congrats on your Pats, but I'm disappointed by their performance--and not just because I laid the 7 with them.

I think Carolina was a better team then you think.
I also think N.E. was only the 2nd team in NFL History to Win 15 straight games in 1 Season. They have had Zero Respect since the 1st game of this winning streak.
They beat Indy twice, Tenn. twice, Miami twice, Dallas, Denver, Philly, and now Carolina and finished 14-4-1 Ats.
We should start picking apart the 72' Dolphins next.......Unbelieveable!
I don't know what some of you guys watched, but NE's defense played a great game the 1st half of the game except for like the last 3 or 4 minutes.
The Patriots have did so well all season long, because of their defense. The defense should have gotten the MVP.
And to say the Patriots didn't deserve to win in my opinion is BS. They had a missed chip shot FG, a blocked FG then a BS pass by brady. There's 9 pts right there. Not to mention the dumped call by the Coach before halftime kicking that dribbler that ended up shifting the momentum back to Carolina and giving them 3 more points.
In the end all that matters is that NE won the game and our the Champions for the 2nd time in 3 years.
i did not intend to start a war of words, i was just venting. wayne your right i should have played carolina, they were the better team where it only matters...VEGAS.......lol
have a good night guys, at least we had something to talk about so i guess those that said it was a good game were right, and they were all carolina bettors or pats fans
hey, good thing is were only how many months away from preseason games ??
New England got the big break at the end (kick out of bounds)...we can sit here and say what if, what if , what if and it still wouldn't matter, this game was EVEN as it comes,
LITTLE MISTAKES decides BIG games, the Panthers kicked the ball out of bounds at the wrong time....game over, GREAT game..i'm proud of my Panthers.
Yea i bet on Carolina, i thought they had a grest chance to win with their defense, New England screwed up with the squib kick, you think Carolina is gonna use clock up? Hell no, they are gonna score ASAP...bad break in the end
if most of these whinners paid attention they would of taken the points or the money line here this was a game that was gonna be determiined by a field goal or two laying 7 was a hard thing to swallow..if you didn't do your homework you got fucked yeah it could of been a blow out but hey that's the NFL you had 2 great defenses playing and the way it was going in the first Quarter or so you had to have the feeling this game wasn't gonna go over 20.......
N.E deserved it and they got it..but give Car. there props it was a good game..
It's just better to be on the winning side both money and team aspects..so it's understandable to have these guys vent on a lose
Every time i make ends meet ..someone moves the ends????
A gift is right - Since 1975, only one SB game has not had at least 37 points scored - and that exception had 36! You had to take the over, although with 3 and a half minutes to go in the first half I had some doubts to say the least. If someone would have told you before the game that TWO quarters would be scoreless, and the game would fly over the total, you'd have thought they were insane. Amazing how this game played out. Hopefully most made a few bucks on this one.

AMEN BROTHER! I thought i was screwed with 4 mins. left in the 2nd and it was scoreless.
I played NE after the conference games were completed a few weeks ago. Midway through the 4th quarter I was rooting for the Panthers. It's a shame a team losses the Super Bowl due to a fucking kicker. I simply do not understand what goes through their minds. All they have to do is kick a fucking stationary ball on a tee.
The Carolina players will say all the right things but you know they have to be thinking 'we are out there sweating, getting injured, etc and this fucking kicker blows the game.
Brother, my "bitch" was tongue-&-cheek. It was an exciting game, but I was on the wrong side of one bet, on the right side on the over... Congrats to the Pats and the Cats.
Oh well... there's always basketball!
PEACE!
P.S. Vrabel should have gotten the MVP! GO BUCKEYES!
