Actually pick.. i dont have aything against people making a decent wage, or against good working conditions.. and i knew some asshole would go nuts on that.. the unions were a great idea when they were started.. they helped the common man and raised the quality of life... BUT, now i have people the come into my work.. they make 120k a year for sitting and staring into space.. come to work drunk.. no problem.. steal no problem (unless your white), union protects scum as well as good men..

Fact is unions have made the cost of almost everything high in our country.. this is why the japs can make better cars for alot less money and alot better quality..

Whoa, Pete....I'm going to assume you're a union man. I have nothing against unions myself, but I do tend to agree that union jobs overpay their employees when scaled against manufacturing jobs that are non-union. I used to work for an avionics company that worked side-by-side with Boeing. We installed our product on the aircraft while it was in the final stages prior to customer delivery. I can only speak for Boeing, but I'll tell you some of the guys that we worked with were making in excess of $40/hour and when they came in on weekends were making double that. And they never freakin worked.
The funny part to me is that when people discuss jobs that overpay, in this case athletes, nobody seems to get mad at actors. We give them the ability to become politicians and create policies for us and all they have done is read lines from a script that SOMEBODY ELSE writes.
CEO's who take a salary of $1 and then are compensated by stock options are the ones I like. People like Kenneth Lay need to be shot.
