NCAAF expert picks insiders preview the Big 12 matchup between the West Virginia Mountaineers and Texas Tech Raiders as the Mountaineers go on the road for the first time this season to face the high-flying Raiders who are coming off a tough loss on the road last week to the Kansas State Jayhawks. The Mountains had last week off and come into this matchup with a 4-0 record after playing three straight games with the latest a 17-16 win over the Raiders opponent last week in the Jayhawks. The West Virginia defense which is ranked third in the Big 12 giving up only 20 pts a game and 418.5 yards total defense although it has been against below average offenses in BYU, Youngstown State, Missouri and Kansas State. The Mountaineers who are giving up 227.2 passing yards per game will face there toughest test of the season thus far when they see the red hot Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes who leads the country with (454.8) passing yards per game, 20 touchdowns, four interceptions with a 73% completion rating.

NCAAF picks insiders report that West Virgina comes into this game with a big advantage when they have the ball behind one of the best offensive lines in the Big 12. This veteran line has led them to an average of 344.5 yards per game as there dual running back tandem in Crawford and Shell will put up big numbers against the Raiders who are are allowing 179.4 yards rushing per game. Texas Tech has averages over 60.1 points and 668.1 yards per game and will attack the West Virginia secondary that will be tested for the first time all season. After losing there best defensive back in Karl Joseph and K.J. Dillon this secondary will have trouble all day keeping up with the fast pace motion offense and the best quarterback they will see this season. Pat Mahomes and the Raider offense will get there scoring average against the Mountaineers so the best counter for West Virginia to win this game will be by rushing the ball and making big plays in the pass offense in which they are surely capable of.

College Football picks insiders see this game as a high scoring game. Texas Tech had there lowest scoring output of the season last week on the road against Kansas State only scoring 38 points which is weel below there season average as they scores 55 or more points in every other game this season. West Virginia struggles on 3rd down defensive efficiency which means West Virginia will have to put up more than 60 pints in this game to win.
