Wednesday''s NFL Week 4 preseason betting primer: Washington at Tampa Bay

Expect a wet field when the Bus host Washington Wednesday. With almost no starters expected to play the Bucs are slight 2.5-pt home faves.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers versus Washington Week 4 preseason game, originally scheduled for Thursday, has been moved up to Wednesday due to incoming weather, but fear not bettors, even on short notice we have you covered.

Washington at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5, 38)

    * As mentioned above, there will be some intense weather in the forecast, even with moving kickoff up by 24 hours. Percentage of percipatation for the game is currently 100 percent, so expect a wet and sloppy field at Raymond James Stadium, with Thunderstorms also expected in the area. To make things even more interesting, there will be a 10-12 mile per hour wind blowing towards the northern end zone. Passing and kicking could be a nightmare.

    * It may be in rough conditions, but Tampa Bay backup quarterback Mike Glennon may be auditioning for a job with another team Wednesday night. Glennon's name is one of those being thrown around when it comes to the Minnesota Vikings, who lost starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater for the season to a devastating knee injury. The price for Glennon may be steep however, as the Bridgewater injury proves how valuable a competent backup quarterback is in the NFL.

    * Washington will sit all of their starters in this preseason Week 4 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This game will be about getting the guys on the roster bubble an opportunity to prove their worth and piecing together the special teams unit. "It’s about special-teams battles. That’s one thing we’re really going to keep a close eye on," said head coach Jay Gruden.

    * Washington's starters will not even be attending tonight's game in Florida. With the game being moved up a day, due to expected poor weather conditions Thursday, it created a conflict with an already scheduled annual "Welcome Home Luncheon" with ownership and community leaders. The starters will attend the luncheon while the second and third string players will be in Tampa to battle the Bucs.
