My selection last Saturday on Samford didn't come through, but I'll try again tonight and use the Princeton Tigers.
From a SU standpoint, I can't see Princeton losing this game. Over the last 10 seasons, the Tigers have been dominant in the Ivy League, posting a 115-25 record. Over the past three seasons, the Tigers have started conference play extremely well as they have gone 4-0, 5-0 and 4-0.
Due to exams, Princeton had a 16 day hiatus but they got a nice warm-up against South Vermont on Monday Night. They showed little rust in this game as they shot over 63% from the field. Although the opponent wasn't much to write home about, the Tigers have been shooting well all year. They rank 14th overall in the NCAA in FG%. Defensively, they have also been very solid. They are ranked 7th in the nation in scoring "D."
Going into league play, Princeton is now healthy. Although their Center and leading scorer Judson Wallace missed the last game with a quad contusion, he is expected to play tonight. Forward Konrad Wysocki came off the bench to play some minutes on Monday after missing 4 games with a viral infection.
The Tigers have played a fairly tough schedule, playing games at Rutgers, at Duke and on a neutral floor against an Oklahoma squad ranked 7th at the time they played. In the game vs. the Sooners, they lost by 3 points and had a shot to tie with a 3 at the buzzer, but it fell short. They impressed Oklahoma coach Kelvin Sampson. Here is a comment from him after that game...
"They execute well, as well as any team in the country," "They're the kind of team I really love to watch play, but not when they're
playing against us."
An effort like the one against this Oklahoma squad will beat Brown quite easily tonight.
Both of these teams played one common opponent, Holy Cross. Princeton won their matchup by 6 points while Brown lost by 26.
Money Line Players...one of my favorite and most simple situations is in effect tonight in this game...
Play on a road favorite after a game in which they shot 60% or better while allowing their opponent to shoot 40% or lower. This is a 30-4 SU angle over the past 7 seasons and 14-1 over the past 3 seasons...2-0 this year so far.
Finally, Princeton has won 7 of the last 8 games at Brown.
Whew...after all of this, I hope it's a winner...
Princeton minus the points.
