Good Stuff! Do you think you can work on the totals now! :D J/J!

Read somewhere that the under hasn't hit since 1975.

    Find this to be interesting.

Thanks for taking the time to post.

      Under

I know the under has hit 2 of the last 4 years.....but many SB are very high scoring.

Kosmo...here is what I could get done during lunch....I'll look into it a little more tonight and tomorrow.

37 Superbowls - 1 game was a PK so I tossed that one out

        Underdog Cover s the Spread:
        5-1-1 71% No Bye Week (7 games)
        10-18-1 34% Bye Week (29 games)

        Underdog Wins Straight Up
        5-2 71% No Bye Week (7 games)
        7-22 24% Bye Week (29 games)
        12-24 33% All Superbowls

        Favorite Wins Straight Up

I was looking back and damn if the book wasnt all over the dog in 7 or 8 of the last Superbowls..especially on a big line.

Makes me think Carolina is the play tomorrow..

          Good info!

Good info Bettorschat, I found another one today when I was going back through the old superbowls with respect to byeweeks.

There have been 30 Superbowls played when their was a 2 week bye. Of those thirty, the team that won, won by 7 or more 26 times.

This is great info. As you read it closer, some interesting plays come out. For example, for the 15 games in which the dog covered, the dog won outright 12 of those games. If you like the dog, then bet them on the Money Line.

I never knew that of the 30 winning teams, 26 won by 7 or more points. I'm going to add some small plays on NE minus 13.5,
at plus 180 and NE minus 17.5, at plus 290. Of the 26 teams that won by 7 or more points, 14 won by more than 17.5 points and 4 more won by exactly 17 points. The only caution is that lately the games have been much closer.

Another interesting tidbit jumps out in regards to the "total". Since 1975, there has only been ONE GAME where the total points was UNDER 37 points, which coincidently is the total today(buy the 1/2 point of course). The exception was 1989 when SF beat Cincy 20-16 for a total of 36 points. That's 27 of 28 games where the total hit 37 or more! The totals also seem to go higher when the two-week break occcurs. Just one of a few reasons I like the OVER today.
