  • VERY IMPORTANT MICH st/MINN NEWS!!!

got thisfrom another site and found this article earlier on ESPN....

Minnesota guard Maurice Hargrow has decided to transfer, dealing a setback to a Minnesota team already off to an 0-4 start in the Big Ten.

Hargrow met with coach Dan Monson on Thursday night to say he wanted to transfer, the university announced Friday. His departure is effective immediately.

Hargrow, a junior from St. Paul, was a starter averaging 31 minutes and 11.4 points per game, but had been struggling recently. He was one of the top returners from last year's squad and also was one of the team's best defenders.

"I met with Moe last night and he has decided it is in his best interest to transfer," Monson said in a statement. "While we wish him the best of luck, we are sorry to see him leave the team as Moe was a valued member of the Minnesota basketball program."

Hargrow started all but the past two games this season. He went scoreless against Ohio State last Saturday and was benched in the last 15 minutes.

Hargrow's campus phone was disconnected Friday. In an interview with the St. Paul Pioneer Press, he said he didn't have any problem with the coaches.

"I just feel this is something that's in my best interest to do," he said.

Hargrow's departure leaves senior Ben Johnson and junior Adam Boone as the team's top guards. Johnson (11.6) and freshman Kris Humphries (22.8) are the only other players averaging double figures in scoring.

I liked Mich St WITH this guy, like them even more without him....

Florida Last Night/ Mich State Tonight

This is starting to remind me of the Florida/Alabama game last night. I was reading the same things here about that game. Top player out for the home team. Lousy road record for the visitors, be careful because everyone was on the home dog. I stayed with the visitor (Fla) last night and it worked. I'm sticking with the visitor (Mich St.) tonight because they are much the better team.
