Back to the Bowls. Let's get another winner.
Military Bowl: Pittsburgh Panthers Vs Navy Midshippmen
Been wrestling one this one all week. The Triple Option is tough to defend, but teams do get a boost when they have time to prepare for it. Pittsburgh has seen it all ready this year (vs Georgia Tech) ad they have had three weeks to get ready for it. That gives Pittsburgh edge right? Not so fast as I will be going with the Midshippmen in this on. This is a home game for Navy and it is also Keenan Reynolds last home game plus coach Ken N. has decided to stay at Navy, so you know his team will be looking to play hard for him. Now some stats. Navy has rung up 307 ypg on the ground vs bowl teams this year and has outscored those teams by an average of 7 ppg. Pittsburgh allowed 482 yards rushing to Georgia Tech earlier in the year and the Panthers have the worst red zone defense in the nation, while Navy has the 4th best red zone offense and the Midshippmen have the fewest turnovers in the nation with 7. Navy has the better offense, and defense, plus the home field edge and emotion will be on their side as well.
There are some good reasons to look at Pittsburgh but many more favor the Midshippmen and the clincher is that Military bowl teams are 28-11 ATS, inncluding 7-1 ATS as favorites. Go Middies.
Play Navy -2.5 over Pittsburgh
