Had a solid 4-1 showing in CFB Last week right here. Lets get more.
Clemson Vs North Carolina (ACC Title)
The Clemson Tigers come in as the top ranked team in the nation with a 12-0 mark. This is their final hurdle to making it to the NCAA Playoffs. If they win they are in and if they lose then they probably need some help to get in. Clemson has been an excellent offensive team this year as they come in ranked 14th in the nation in total yards and 15th in scoring (37.9 ppg). Deshaun Watson has had a great year under center as he has thrown for 3228 yards and 27 TDs, while also rushing for 756 yards and another 9 TDs. This is a tough offense to stop as many teams have found out this year. This is not just an offensive team as they also rank 7th in the nation in total defense, 4th vs the pass and 17th in points allowed, giving up just 18.8 ppg. Clemson has out scored ACC foes by 19 ppg and have won each of their last 7 conference games by at least 10 points.
The North Carolina Tar Heels really came out of nowhere to post their 11-1 record and put themselves in a position to possibly play for a national title. The1r lone loss on the year was their opening game vs South Carolina, which now looms as a shocking loss, considering how bad South Carolina has been this year. Still the Heels shook that off and have now won 11 games in a row. The Heels have a bit better offense as they rank 16th in total yards and 11th in points scored (41.2 ppg), but Clemson has a bit better defense as the Heels rank 65th in total yards allowed and 19th in points allowed, giving up 20.8 ppg. The Heels are also led by a dual threat QB as Marquise Williams comes in having thrown for 2608 yards and 18 TDs, while also rushing for 786 yards and another 10 TDs. The Heels also have Elijah Wood, who has rushed for 1280 yards and 16 TDs.
I don’t see a whole lot of defense in this game as both of these teams can and have really lit up the scoreboard this year. Both teams have played good defense this year, but both teams have been involved in some shootouts as well. Three of Carolina’s last four games have put up 97, 80 and 79 points, while Clemson has had three games with at least 67 points being scored. These two teams have also racked up the points vs each other the last two years as 85 and 97 points have been scored in their last two meetings. This one should be loads of fun.

Georgia State vs Georgia Southern
The Georgia State Panthers come in off a 31-21 home win over Troy, which was their third win in a row, while the Georgia Southern Eagles come in off a 55-17 destruction of South Alabama and are now 6-1 in conference play. Last year the Eagles won this game 69-31, which was the only meeting at the FBS level between these teams.
Because of 40 college football bowl games, the Georgia State Panthers have a shot at postseason thanks to their 3-0 run down the stretch. It will not be easy as they are taking on a team that beat them by 38 points last year, but still the Panthers are happy to be in this position. They come in off a solid home win over the Troy Trojans, which followed wins over South Alabama and Texas State. They won all three games by double digits and outgained those three teams by an average of 145 ypg.
Strong finish, but it just may be too little too late as this will be a tough test for them. The Panthers have been a very good offensive team and have the 8th ranked passing offense in the nation that is led by QB Nick Arbuckle, who has thrown for 3814 yards with 23 TDs and 10 INTs. They have needed his passing as the run game has been non-existent, ranking 126th in the nation. The defense for the Panthers has been sore spot for most of the year as they rank 89th in points allowed (30.4 ppg), but they have been much better down the stretch, allowing just 18.3 ppg in their last four games.
The Georgia Southern Eagles enter as the top rushing team in the nation as they average 375.6 ypg rushing for the year and they had another big game on the ground as they pounded out 456 yards rushing in their 55-17 win over South Alabama. Leading the way was Matt Breida, who had 187 yards and 2 TDs in the game. He has been the main back for the Eagles with 1495 yards, but this is not a one trick pony team as L.A. Ramsby, Kevin Ellison and Wesley Fields all have at least 600 yards rushing on the season.
They are last in the nation in passing at 61.3 ypg, but they don’t have to pass as their run game has been plenty good and has led to 37.2 ppg, which is 19th in the nation. This is also not only an offensive team as they have been very strong on the defensive side of the ball and South Alabama found that out as they were held to just 136 yards of total offense in that game. For the year the Eagles rank 13th in the nation, giving up just 322.6 ypg, while also allowing just 22.3 ppg, which is 35th in the land. This has been a very tough team to beat at home this year where they are 5-0 and have outscored teams by 30.2 ppg.
I like the Panthers here. They are playing well and playing for a shot at a bowl game, plus they have gone 5-0 ATS on the road this year. The Eagles are a hard team to stop and they have been crushing their conference opponents this year, but they also have little to play for as they are pretty much locked into a bowl game. They have no reason to be as fired up for this one as the Panthers do, who are playing for a bit more. This one is decided by less than 17 points.
