The BC Lions head into the Week 11 schedule with a 1-3 record against the spread in their four road games this season and have gone just 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven road games dating back to last season.

The Lions will visit the Montreal Alouettes Thursday evening and are currently tabbed as 5-point road underdogs for the meeting.

BC is coming off a bye week but lost to the Als in Week 9 by a score of 23-13 and closed as 3-point faves.

Blue Bombers trade for Eskimos QB Nichols

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have acquired veteran quarterback Matt Nichols from the Edmonton Eskimos Wednesday for a conditional draft pick in the 2017 CFL draft.

Nichols went 5-2 with 1,488 passing yards eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions when stepping in for injured QB Mike Reilly, but with the emergence of young James Franklin, Nichols became expendable.

Nichols also fills a need for the sputtering Blue Bombers, who have dropped three straight games since losing starter Drew Willy to a knee injury.

The Blue Bombers are currently 3.5-point road dogs for Sunday's matchup with rival Saskatchewan.

Brohm to start for Blue Bombers Sunday

Quarterback Brian Brohm has been given the starting nod for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as the struggling club visits the Saskatchewan Roughriders Sunday afternoon.

Regular No. 1 quarterback Drew Willy is scheduled to be back later this month as he nurses a knee injury, though Ed Tait of the Winnipeg Free Press speculates a mid-to-late October return, and backup Robert Marve has placed on the injured list with a leg injury.

Winnipeg traded for Matt Nichols from the Edmonton Eskimos earlier in this week.

The Bombers have lost three-consecutive games straight up and against the spread and are presently 3.5-point road dogs at the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the lone CFL matchup Sunday.

                  Week 11

                  Sunday, September 6

Winnipeg (3-6) @ Saskatchewan (0-9)-- An 0-9 team that just fired its coach and GM is favored over a 3-6 team? Bombers lost 14 of last 17 games with Saskatchewan, but snapped an 11-game losing skid in Regina when they upset Riders 30-26 (+6) in Week 1. Winnipeg lost last three games overall by a combined score of 101-37. Saskatchewan is a disaster; they've been favored in four of the losses with five of the nine losses at home. Last seven Winnipeg games, four of last six Roughrider games stayed under the total, Robert Marve, who wasn't even good in college (Miami/Purdue) is Bombers' QB.

Hamilton won five of last seven vs Toronto, winning four of last five played here- home side won last four series games. Argonauts won three of last four games, are 3-3 SU on road (3-2 as road dogs)- they scored 27+ points in all six wins, 20 or less in their three losses. Hamilton held six of last seven opponents to 22 or less points- they're 3-1 as home favorites. Under is 5-2 in last seven TiCat games, 1-3 in last four Toronto tilts.

Edmonton (6-3) @ Calgary (7-2)-- Stampeders won last 11 games with provincial rivals, hammering Eskimos 43-8 (-6.5) in playoffs LY. Edmonton lost last five visits here (2-3 vs spread); they split last four games after a 4-1 start. Eskimos are 2-2 on road, 1-0 as road dogs; three of their last four games went over. Calgary won its last four games after a 3-2 start, scoring 35.8 ppg during its win streak; they're 1-4 as a home favorite, winning 48-3 (-9) over Ottawa in last home game. Edmonton allowed 17 or less points in all six wins; 26-26-49 in losses. Four of last six series games stayed under.

Favorites have second straight profitable week in CFL

It has been a year dominated by the underdogs in the CFL, but the trend has finally started to even out for the past two weeks.

With two Labor Day games on Monday, favorites closed out the week going 3-1 against the spread and are now 6-2 over the past two weeks.

Even with the recent success, favorites are still just 16-26-1 ATS for the season.
