Thursday NCAA Hoops......

Only 1-2 last night but still made a small profit. This is my only play for Thursday.....



3 STAR: Ucla (+14) OVER STANFORD

Stanford is off to a great at 14-0 straight up and 9-4 against the spread but UCLA has also been a surprise this season with their 9-4 record and 9-3 mark against the spread. The Bruins have played well on the road this season going 2-2 straight up and 3-0 against the spread, but this is by far their stiffest road test of the season. However, this has been a series dominated by the road team. The road team in this series is 10-0 against the spread and the visitor is also 8-2 straight up in the last ten meetings. Most of the meetings have been very close games and only one of the last ten games has been decided by more than 15 points. UCLA has been a great dog this season going 5-0 against the spread so far in that role, so I'll take the points here as I look for another strong effort by the Bruins.

did you see it?? i had ucla +14 but the under as well..........i always like to know how i lose those games........i saw them down 12 with a couple minutes left.........hopefully it was not too painful............this has been a painful week.........for me at least

If I don't see the end of the game many times I check the box score at espn.com. For top 25 games they have the entire games play by play.

Actually it was pretty painful, Shorty. UCLA within 12, a minute and a half to go, Stanford just working the clock, the Cardinal hit a 3. Now down 15, UCLA proceeds to miss a layup, get a stop, and miss ANOTHER layup. Each team makes a pair of free throws and Stanford runs out the clock. I absolutely hate the end of college BB games when it hovers around the spread - always seems to fall a point or even a half point (see Wyoming on Monday) away. But of course, that's why they call it gambling. The gods should even things up eventually, right?
