Monday NCAA Hoops..........
Cashed in the Virginia Cavaliers yesterday, these are my plays for Monday............
1 STAR: Detroit (-5) OVER CLEVELAND STATE
Detroit has owned this series against Cleveland State, winning the last seven meetings between these two teams and going 6-1 against the spread in those games. Detroit is not as good this season as they have been in the past, as they are currently 8-7 this season, but this is a horrible Cleveland State team and Detroit is a solid 16-6 against the spread when playing a team with a losing record. The Vikings are 4-12 this season, including a 2-5 home record, and they are on a ten game losing streak. The four wins that Cleveland State does have, are against very weak teams: Central State (Ohio), Florida A&M, Utah Valley and Norfolk State. The Vikings have not done very well as an underdog recently, posting a 14-25 record as an underdog the last three seasons and they are playing this game with only one day of rest, a situation where they are only 5-14 against the spread the last 19 tries. Furman comes into this game at 8-7 on the season and they are facing a struggling 4-12 Citadel team that they have had a lot of success against in the past where Furman is 5-1 against the spread in lined games against The Citadel since 1997. Furman has been great against the spread so far this season going 7-1 against the spread in their eight lined games this season, including 6-0 against the spread on the road. The Citadel has been horrible so far this season when it comes to covering the number as they are 0-7 against the spread in their seven lined games this year, including 0-4 against the spread at home. The Citadel is also only 5-11 against the spread when playing with one or less days rest over the last three seasons. Lay the points with Furman here!
1 STAR: UNC-Wilmington (-10) OVER TOWSON STATE
UNC-Wilmington has won the last four match ups between these two teams all by double digits and they are 3-1 against the spread in those games. UNC-Wilmington has been a solid team against the spread over the last three seasons posting a mark of 42-24 against the number in all lined games and they are 62-36 against the spread as a favorite since 1997. Wilmington is very good defensive team, and these type of teams Towson has struggled against in the past, posting a 2-5 record against the spread versus teams that are allowing 64 points or less per game. Towson State is also only 7-16 against the spread when playing a team with a winning record over the last three seasons. Lay the points here!
