  • The Griswold Super Bowl Play

    NFL YTD 14-10 +3.95 units
    2* 1-0 +2.0 units
    1* 13-10 +0.95 units

    NFL/CFB Combined 43-29 +11.45 units

I won my only play of the conference finals, a 1* on the Packers.

    2* Patriots PK

(This is the line I bet, still available now at bookmaker.eu)

My analysis is similar to that of my play against Seattle two weeks ago. The Seahawks offense has been only fair the last two months. As I said in my GB write-up, if you can get to 24, you will beat Seattle. New England can do that. If Green Bay hadn't repeatedly failed in the red zone, they would have won in a walk. As it was, only three horrid special teams plays cost the Packers what should have been an easy win.

It's possible New England's preparation is compromised by deflategate, but I have confidence that Belichick's general "don't give a rip" attitude will allow them to overcome that. The Patriots defensive staff went to school on the Packers game and the staff on that side of the ball hasn't been distracted by anything.

Seattle's receivers are weak and this is the team's Achilles heel.

I am of the opinion Green Bay and New England are the best teams in the NFL. If you ignore the score of the Packers-Seahawks game and stick with who dominated the contest, you can't help but go against Seattle here.

It is very hard to repeat in the NFL. Brady and Belichick are overdue for another title.

Remember also that a very bad Carolina team was in contention against Seattle until a late 90-yard pick six.

Seattle has been prone to awful starts. If that happens here, I don't look for New England to take the foot off the gas.

Seattle isn't the same team away from home.

New England is my strong play.

No opinion on the total. I'm not messing with props.

I will make a very small play on New England on the alternate line of -7.5 (+254) but won't count that in my record.
