1 STAR: VIRGINIA (-2) OVER Florida State
Home court advantage is huge in this match up. The Virginia Cavaliers are only 2-4 straight up and 1-5 against the spread over their last six games, but they do enjoy an 8-2 record at home. Florida State has lost three in a row after starting the season 10-0 and cracking the national Top 25 polls. However, the team is 0-3 straight up and against the spread over its past three, and they were favorites in two of those games. This series has been dominated by the home team, as they host has won seven out of the last 8 meetings. Florida State is also one of, if not the worst road team in the ACC. The Seminoles have lost 17 straight conference road games. The last time they won on the ACC road was March 3rd of 2001 at Clemson! Overall, Florida State is 8-16 against the spread in all lined road games and just 1-4 against the spread as a road underdog of three points or less over the last three seasons. The Cavaliers usually win when they are a favorite, they are 24-9 straight up as a favorite over the last three seasons, and they have been very good at home posting a 33-9 home record over the last three seasons.
