A nice winner last night with Georgia Tech, 9-2-2 the last three days! This is my play for tonights small card.....
1 STAR: MARQUETTE (-10) OVER Southern Mississippi
I'm going to make a small play here on Marquette tonight at home as they look to bounce back from Wednesday nights home loss at the hands of the Cincinnati Bearcats. Southern Miss is 8-6 on the season, winning all eight of their home games and losing all six of their road games. Five of their wins were over cupcakes such as Hampton, Samford, Alcorn State, Texas Southern and the powerful William Carey (who the fuck is this??). Their only quality win was a three point win over Memphis at home and they did play St. Louis to a close one point loss on the road in their last game, the only road game in which they have covered the spread. But Marquette is a big step up in competition and they have already lost twice to teams with this caliber of talent in a 15 point loss at LSU and a 34 point loss at Louisville. This team really struggles on the road. Their scoring output drops by ten points per game on the road from 65 points per game to only 55 points per game and their defense on the road is also terrible, allowing opponents 75 points per game at 51% shooting from the field. That is not a good thing against a Marquette team that averages 72 points per game at home and shoots 45% from the field, they should have no trouble lighting up the scoreboard in this game. This series has also been dominated by the home team who has won and covered the spread in five straight meetings. Lay the points here!
