Thought I would start a new thread, the old one had 4 pages!

Nice looking day so far, thanks to JNPR all the telecoms/optics are doing nicely. Well done for them and it paves the way for some nice winners going forward.

Savage, you gotta love it when the NYSE morons announce where LU is going after the market is open 10 minutes. They posted a high trade of 5 bucks when the stock was at like 4.70..lmao and it went to about 5.

    Stocks I am eyeing

VTSS- chip maker for the optic group, been on a tear and I think it can continute...
CHTR- sold way too low, I think it may be worth another stab..I hate when I sell too low.
BCON- keep your eye on this one, they are an alt power company and when bad weather gets mentioned the stock goes crazy. I owned this pup at 25 cents..was a nice trade..swings strongly
    IVAN- Around 3.25 if possible

    Also looking at the regulars...

      Savage,

Damn! Nice hit on that PLRS stock too! Only problem is the wide spread and the lack of volume. It is now on my list.

LU doing well, at some point you would think that we get a break in these stocks..but not yet.

I have an order in on VTSS at 7.93, lets see if she swings down and pick me up!

Oh and you gotta love SUNW..they got so lucky this time around. Missed again on revenues and the street let them slide by..it was a bad report IMO..we shall see if it dips. I aint buying even if it goes to 20.

Wallstreet-I see bcon is up today. Is it too late to buy or should I wait for pullback to consider it?
ps I didn't know lu hit $5 until you mentione it. Do you think I show sell any if goes there again? I know $5 is important level because of mutual funds and margin requirements.

          Savage,

I say hold on LU..if nothing we should have a few good days next week.. And when it gets past 5 it is marginable and it can go either way, it can be sold short and it also can be bought on margin..usually not a big deal.

And on BCON, the weather is making this stock move. I would wait and buy at 1.10 or so..it gets there if you pull up a chart you can see what I am talking about. It was 1.10 or so just this week.

One comment that we need to keep in mind with our volitile stocks. There is an indicator that I use and is a big deal, called the Bullish Percent Indicator..it tells for each sector what the percentage of bullishness is. I heard that they are getting up to levels we havent seen in 15 yrs..so there is a liklihood we will have a pullback and when that happens it might be for an extended period of time.

I am still only about 10% invested..I am too stubborn and wont chase.

Looking for new brokerage service. Presently with American Exp.
Hearing alot about Ameritrade, some commish savings there.
Thought I'd ask the man of knowledge. Have no problem getting info and real time quotes, just looking to cut the overhead and maintain security. Not sure if this is allowed at BC, just thought I'd ask. WOW nice jump on JNPR. Watching CHTR work their way back.
            Thanks, XX

                        Good stuff guys..

                        Here are a few comments.

Damn it VTSS is moving even higher..ok now back to the other stuff:

I started with Datek and they got bot out by Ameritrade.

I would HIGHLY recommend Ameritrade if you want online access only. As Savage mentioned, Q&R is good cause they have discount commish and local offices, but I dont need local offices so I use Ameritrade. Also add in there Scottrade, they are cheap and have local offices. For online traders I would say Ameritrade..

And on the NANX..they are top notch..either go with NGEN or NANX. What NGEN has is the biotech angle..they work with biotech companies and pharmas, which has a huge market. The thing about NANO and tech companies is that the big boys are getting in early..meaning IBM and CSCO, and I am sure INTC is either in or getting there.. I think you cannot go wrong with either stock..but they are volitile..with only 22M shares out there for NGEN the swings can be violent.

ADSX..I cant go for that stock...they are a big trading telecom stock and I think there are better names than they are..but if you want a cheapo I guess a rising tide raises all boats, and they could be moving too..for me there are too many market makers on the stock just wanting pennies..makes it hard to move..

On the general question..for trading, make sure you start wisely..avoid Options, put in money that you can afford to lose, the stocks we talk about here are crazy trader stocks..well, most of them. Put in money here that can be at risk. And you MUST have over 5k to start..the reason is if you dont you will get eaten by commissions and trade to avoid commissions than letting a loser go..and for the newbie..please avoid OTCBB stocks and PK stocks..learn first, then go to the gallows of the OTCBB..I mean that in a good way. Also, learn how the market works from observing people who trade, and from reading and watching CNBS etc..and paper trade for a bit, or if you have to jump in fast, keep a collar on the losers..make your choices based on your feelings not others who are either pumping or bashing.

We here arent pumping or bashing..and that is what makes this site great. The monitor should make a column for stock traders..would be cool to have a forum where we hang out and talk stocks..

FWIW-that was great advice for newbies.
To change the subject(sorry if I mentioned it before), but also keep an eye on apns(I know it is only around .35), as the same guy, Tom Genna, who is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and the guru so to speak on cln(see RagingbBull thread) also thinks this stock may be a comer;there is a separate thread on RagingBull on apns.
Right now I have only 6000 shares but if stock goes to $.45 or so, will add to position.
APNS is involved with Alzheimers Disease in a nutshell.
Lastly, good ipfs is starting to move again(had nice profit the first time, but bought back too soon and lost part of it).
                            I may add some today.

                              Savage,

Those are also added to my list..I wish they had more volume, that is my only concern. I always say that though dont I????

You see JDSU??? Crap it is up 50 cents today, going to push through 5..

Almost bot some 2 days ago..geez...

One thing I dont like about Ameritrade vs Datek, the login is different and the streamer is more volitile..I have more problems with saving lists than when I was with Datek..
