Although my algorithm doesn't officially come into play until week 8 (when I can input enough data), using last years numbers and this years projections I have this game landing on 38 points. Last year, the Bengals offense was far from a jugernaut; they were 27th in YPR and 11th in YPPA. And the Ravens had one of the worst offenses in the league. They were dead last in YPR and second to last in YPPA. But both teams were solid defensively. The Bengals were 15th vs the run and 2nd vs the pass (YPPA). And the Ravens were 5th and 16th vs the run and pass, respectively. The Bengals have a new offensive coordinator and a new offensive scheme and it will take time for them to learn the system and be able to move the ball effectively. In the opening week, defenses are ahead of offenses and I think this is a slow moving, low scoring game.
