----13) Why so much day baseball on Labor Day? Teams shouldn't have to play day games if they traveled the day before-- hurts quality of the product.
You know, RS, I try to avoid playing many games that start early for that very reason. Humans, by nature, are creatures of habit and routine. When you throw guys off their routine, it blows their concentration and focus. It takes them out of their gameday comfort zone. True, it effects some guys more than others but it always causes problems.

The Tribe's start was mid-afternoon but that was still too early after the day/night they just had.

It's true in all sports, too. For instance, in football, if a west coast team plays a 1:00 east coast game, their body clocks have them starting at 10:00 in the morning. That's just hard to get up for.

When college hoops play those early morning or really late night games, all kinds of odd stuff happens.

Early or very late starts really do diminish the quality of games.
