Hey Udog--We got the mother of all QB controversies going here in Clev. ESPN is claiming that Manziel has moved ahead of Hoyer. I saw the game--Hoyer looked better to me. Pettine is denying he ever said Manziel was ahead of Hoyer--but ESPN and CBS don't give a rat's ass about Hoyer--they want to see Manziel--so they just make up stories.

Pirates place Andrew McCutchen on disabled list
Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Aug. 4, with his fractured rib and cartilage injury in the left side, the club announced Monday. As a corresponding move, the Pirates have recalled right-handed pitcher Casey Sadler from Triple-A Indianapolis.
McCutchen, 27, is hitting .311/.411/.536 (167 OPS+) with 32 doubles, five triples, 17 homers, 67 RBI and 17 steals. He was on his way to absolutely being part of the NL MVP discussion for the third-straight season (he was third in 2012), but this could certainly impact that.
Report: Twins to activate Joe Mauer
Joe Mauer will join the Minnesota Twins Monday after missing five weeks with a strained right oblique, according to a report from Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com. The Twins plan to activate Mauer from the 15-day DL, and he will meet the team in Houston. The six-time All-Star and former MVP is hitting a career low .271 this season, with a .695 OPS and just two home runs.

Line on the move in this Week 8 matchup
Some sportsbooks opened the Week 8 matchup between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Toronto Argonauts as a Pick, while others opened shortly thereafter with Argos -1 earlier Monday.
Whatever the case may be, that line now sits at Argos -1.5 mere hours after hitting the board.
The Argonauts lead the East Division with a paltry record of 2-4 and are also 2-4 against the spread.

I saw the game and thought Hoyer looked better, too. Manziel didn't look bad at all. He made some good decisions and some good throws. Hoyer is just further along and it shows. I like him!
